Overall, the awakening drums as a series seem very sturdy and well made, and the purple burst/C Ake bono one that I have has a particularly beautiful sound to it. The tuning seems great, all the notes can sound good together when played in any sequence, and the C Ake bono scale gives the resonance of the notes a haunting, mysterious emotional tone. The sound produced is quite loud when struck with the provided mallets, and I've played it in large rooms and never needed a microphone/speaker to ensure the audience hears it well.
The price point especially seems like a great value for the size, quality of the drum, and the uniqueness of the scale! Would highly recommend it for beginner tongue drummers.
