Made To Create
Launchkey is an intuitive and fully integrated MIDI keyboard controller for making tracks in Ableton Live, designed to give you everything you need to create and play your music. Made for creators of all abilities, Launchkey gives you inspirational tools to expand your musical vocabulary. Scale and Chord modes and a powerful arpeggiator push your musical creativity and help start new ideas. Custom Modes and a full-size MIDI output transform Launchkey into a powerful centrepiece of any music-making setup.

Ableton Live Integration
Launchkey gives you unrivalled access to Ableton Live's functions, including Capture MIDI, track arm, quantise, click and loop controls. Not using Ableton Live? No problem, Launchkey also has full integration with Logic and Reason, plus out of the box functionality with other DAWs including Studio One, Cubase and Pro Tools, via HUI.

Expand Your Musical Vocabulary
Inspirational features include Scale Mode, Chord Modes and a powerful arpeggiator, which together extend your musical capabilities and let you create in new ways. Scale Mode transposes keys and pads played to notes in the scale selected; three chord modes let you trigger complex chords with one finger, while the powerful arpeggiator gets melodies moving, fast.

Four Model Sizes
Available in 25-, 37-, 49- and 61-key variants, it's easier than ever to pick the size that suits. 25- and 37-key models are perfect for mobile producers and performers, and for those in tight setups. 49- and 61-key versions are ideal for larger setups, and for those who want more keys, and greater hands-on control with faders and fader buttons.

Custom Modes: Control Anything
The full-size five-pin MIDI output, works with any MIDI-compatible device. Use Novation Components to configure four Custom Modes, which map Launchkey's knobs, faders and pads to software and hardware features.

Standalone Operation
Launchkey works standalone, so it's the perfect controller for any music-making setup, with or without a computer. The Scale and Chord Modes, arpeggiator and Custom Modes can all be used to control an all-hardware studio or live rig.

Included Software
Ableton Live 10 Lite - Industry-leading music creation software, with seamless operation with Launchkey.

If you're looking for a budget MIDI keyboard that is of good quality and has a good amount of features, this is it. It has all the essential features and all the knobs, buttons, and pads feel great. Not many gimmick features and straight to the point. Easy to use and integrates with all major DAW's. I know it's targeted towards Ableton users, however it's working great with Logic for me. They provide the necessary drivers. There's also some good bundled software included, usually it's pretty basic but this one provides a few good options. The Novation Components software allows you to easily update the keyboard's firmware and create, download, and upload custom presets and configurations. The keys feel pretty good to me as someone with very limited keyboard experience. If you're a serious keyboard player, you may not like the "synth" feel of these, but the purpose of this is more so as a feature packed MIDI controller, and not really about an authentic piano playing experience. In summary, good quality, plenty of features, great software support. Can't go wrong for $300!

If you are looking for something in a good full-size key unit the Launchkey MK3 49 is a pretty good all round acquisition. I got it for $50 off on sale a couple of months back and am having a blast with it. I have only used it with the free Ableton Live Lite - but that's limited to 8 tracks. Fine for starting out, but it doesn't take long to fill up tracks -- or I haven't learned to be creative enough with my loops yet. It is definitely a steep learning curve, but the overall features and sale price made it impossible to pass up. It compares well with the 49 key versions of the Oxygen MKv and Pro models as well. Make no mistake - this is a large unit - but it has to be with all the features and controls. Faders are outstanding - and really make mixing and production easier overall. Having the two-row drum pads are also great - so many options for customized setups. Overall excellent value if you can get one on sale.

All features are nice looking and feel good to the touch. I've playing with it for a week now and having a lot of fun. The lights on the drum pads just made you you to play. Plug -and-play with Garageband out of the box. With Studio One, it took ten minutes to setup and play. Knobs and slides, I followed a youtube instruction maybe 20 minutes. Other features, I just learned as I came across if I needed them. The drum pads materials are very good, It sounds soft or loud depends how hard you hit them . They're 16 pieces drum sets. You can use the drum pads to play bass or any instrument . you can adjust up to 3 levels of velocities and the same with the keyboard. Keyboard feel as good as my $3000 Korg synthesizer. This is a well crafted piece of instrument down to the details with thoughts. Before this, I bought a Nektar online but returned. It wasn't in the same bar. Nektar keys fell off in the box.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
