Saves your equipment from loud pops and squeals when you change guitars with a live amp. When the button is pushed, the cable shorts while remaining plugged into your guitar, making on-stage guitar changes a snap and eliminating any chance of sound bursts. Once the cable is shorted, remove the cable from the guitar being used and plug the cable into the next instrument. Press the button again to reactivate the cable signal.

Lasted about 1 year. Just went dead one day. I do like the kill switch, but for the price it's not worth the money. I've yet to find a cable that lasts.

Who changes guitars without using a tuner to mute, or turning down the amp? If you need to do that ever, maybe this cable is for you.
If not, stay away. The jacks are fine, but the switch is an uncessary complication to the weak point of all cables which is the jack.
The cable itself is quite stiff and stubbornly stays coiled rather than falling flat and getting out of the way.
I picked this up as a warranty replacement for a much-loved PW-G-20 that died in an accident. I never use it, so it will probably last forever.

If you change guitars while playing you need one of these.Much easier than switching your standby at every swap.Just press the button unplug the old, plug in the new and push the button once again and you are up and running ....fantastic.My only gripe is the wire is a bit stiffer than their other high end cables.
