The L.R. Baggs M1A-L M1 Active Left-Handed Pickup has built-in all class A electronics that eliminate the need for any external preamps.
Makes the M1 Active Left-Handed Pickup compatible with any outboard equipment. The volume control gives you fingertip access in any performing situation.
The M1 Active is a humbucking pickup - with a twist. In a common stacked humbucker, the second, lower coil cancels hum, but doesn't contribute anything positive to the sound. In fact, it can muddy the sound of the main coil. L.R. Baggs unlocks the second coil. This allows
it to make a positive sonic contribution while maintaining the pure, open sound of a single coil - without the hum.
The M1 Active is powered by a 3-volt lithium battery and will give you over 1,000 hours of playing time.
In the M1, the hum-canceling coil is suspended under the main coil by a tuned support that allows it to move in three dimensions. The primary coil moves with the guitar top and creates a body signal in the suspended secondary coil. This brings the M1 to life, with string and body sound all in one. It's like having a dual pickup system in your soundhole.
L.R. Baggs carefully tuned the support to control motion in all three dimensions. This allows the presence and realism from the body signal
to be selectively added while suppressing runaway feedback.
Includes pre-wired strapjack assembly, spare pole pieces, self-stick wire clips, and spare battery.
Specifications:
• Battery type: CR2032
• Battery life: 1000+ hours
• Current consumption: 135 uA
• Preamp signal to noise: -78dB unweighted
• Output level: -10dB
• Output impedance: 800 ohms

I bought this for guitar with a split saddle (two high strings rest on its own separate saddle, 4 remaining strings on its own saddle piece). It was hard to find an under-saddle pickup for this set up. So this was an option.
I use this in my main gigging acoustic. The sound of strummed chords is quite good. Maybe not the absolute best our there, but still quite good. The real vale for me is for solos. I play through OD pedals sometimes, and this pup is well suited for that.. It is versatile and allows me to carry one guitar to acoustic gigs with fewer concerns that I have to limit what I can do.
Has a volume control knob. That is all for added features. Good enough for me.
It was very easy to install myself. Just make sure you have the right drill bit when you make that hole for the input jack...

Be careful before buying this, it not fit with the "Art et Lutherie" guitar's rosette... otherwise great sound, and great quality hardware !
