No nonsense, Electromatic® Jet™ FT models are the perfect real, pure and powerful Gretsch® instruments. They're your next-step Gretsch - bold, dynamic and articulate, and crafted with essential Gretsch sound, style and playability.

Classic Jet tone begins with a chambered mahogany body with maple top that produces full lows and mids with an exceptionally smooth and present high end. The result is a deep acoustic foundation that is robust, yet balanced.

Black Top Filter'Tron pickups amplify and accentuate the Electromatic Jet FT's chambered body to produce a wide, balanced and transparent tone. Loud and punchy, this Jet sounds out with remarkable definition at any level of gain. Together, the body and pickups thunder with full, responsive lows and mids with a high end that sparkles without spikes.

I've owned this guitar for ~7 months now, and I really do love it. Firstly, the filtertron pickups are incredibly versatile, providing excellent clarity even when under screaming gain and distortion. The bridge pickup has great bite, and the neck pickup is smooth and precise. The guitar is quite resonant, and the body and neck are well constructed and comfortable to play. Factory setup was good as well. Fit and finish are great, and the cadillac green finish is really classy. The electronics and tuners leave something to be desired however. I've ran into problems with the pickup switch failing on me in the bridge position, and the master volume control doesn't do enough between levels 1-10, with a harsh cutoff of sound at 0. The tuners feel cheap compared to the rest of the guitar, and though tuning stability has been solid (after proper lubrication), they're the first thing I'm looking to upgrade on this guitar. The Bigsby can be finnicky, but... it's a Bigsby and that's more or less to be expected. I'm glad to have it on the guitar vs not. Realistically, all my complaints about this guitar are addressable with upgrades, but just know that I'd consider them a requirement to have a truly reliable and complete instrument. It also seems the guitar's dropped in price since I purchased it, so I'd consider it still solid value to buy the guitar and install relevant upgrades.

Ive owned a few vintage ones and this is great!I set it up,oiled the nut and bridge and set up the Bigsby. The original factory strings need to be changed they are awful..Gretsch guitars love 10 1/2 or 11s.The pickups where designed that way.9s are too light and sound tinny. The pickups are only 4.5 Ohms very weak..I like clean anyway.I always rewind the bridge pickup to around 8 ohms.Lower the neck pickup and raise up the bridge one for a balanced volume.Other than that it plays fantastic.I gigged with it out of the box before I set it up.I didn't have time that day..My only complaint is they dont give you a case. Its getting bad the guitar companys don't do that anymore. For 1000.00 you should get one.My 68 never played this good.My uncle had a 59 that was awful.Take a chance and play a few.I bought the best one I played .Cheers

This guitar is a dream. Right out of the box it was all setup and ready to be played. The assortment of tones you get from this beautiful guitar is what every guitarist wants (shimmering, crunchy, twangy, velvety..) a well rounded guitar. Easy to play, neck feels great and did I mention the gorgeous colour. I can't stop admiring my guitar (however mine came with gold hardware) which in my personal opinion makes it look even more dazzling and regal. The bigsby is awesome, but yes if you play with it a lot in your songs you are going to have to re tune it but that's to be expected! Just like you would if your bending a ton in your solos. There is an easy fix to it though. I play jazz, blues, rockabilly, soul, R&B, classic rock, alternative, country.. Yup you get this guitar does it all! Thank you L&M and thank you Gretsch 💖 This guitar was worth every penny, she was the guitar I was looking for

This guitar has been awful, I purchased it in September and it has given me nothing but trouble since. The stock nut binds like crazy and makes the bigsby unusable, the tuning stability issues are so bad I can't make it through a song before it is completely unplayable. Something in the bridge rattles like crazy, it makes a horrible hiss everytime I play the third string. Don't waste your time on this piece of garbage.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
