I've been intrigued with this model for awhile, and I'm pleased to say this fussy guy is satisfied! I played Eliminator pedals years ago. (Two single pedals with belts, and still have and use the hi-hat version for going on 20 years). My favourite pedal of all times is an older single Tama Flexi Glide, belt version. After abandoning double pedals for 7 years, I needed something solid but affordable. A disastrous try with a used Tama Flexi double pedal had me thinking that new was the the best way to go. Although I much prefer belt drives, I loved the smooth plate on the Solo (I actually took the round rubber dots off my original Eliminators to make a smooth plate) and the red cam matched the arc of my Flexi Glide. While not as springy or perpetual as my beloved Tama pedal, these Pearls perform really great and pass the test! I was able to set these up to close match my Tama pretty fast, and am able to perform all my usual faster riffs with ease. The smooth plate is the best I've ever felt, perfect. They look great as well, and am proud to add them to my Pearl Reference based set-up. The bare bones approach, and without the pedal bag I'd never use, is perfect and welcomed. For my money, a great investment!
