Totally great guitar, perfect neck grip, majestic fretboard inlays/playability. Legit rock sound! Pricey but value wise for a collector’s item is worth it.

I bought an Appetite Burst used at the L&M Calgary (58th Ave) store. It was at a great price (but still expensive) due to some blemishes on the finish. This has become my favourite guitar and is my main axe at all my gigs. It is heavy but nothing that a good strap couldn't take care of. The two most outstanding features for me are the neck. I love the neck, its nice and chunky but not overly big (I DO NOT like 60s style necks) definitely adds to the tone and then there are the pick ups. They appear to me low to medium gain but very warm and delivers all the bite (bridge) and buttery warm (neck) tones you would expect from a Slash model. Other appointments are standard and I love that they do not come with those absolutely ugly pickguards..!! I play it through tube amps (Marshall JCM200 and PRS MT15) , a solid state (Orange OR120) amp as well as a BOSS GT1000 and I love the sounds from all the platforms. I like em so much that I am working towards my next one which should be a November Burst. I definitely like this guitar, it plays and sounds good and works for me.

I watched many videos, many reviews…positives, negatives but when it came down to it…..it just screams rock and roll….beautiful guitar. That burst is incredible and in person is even better. It plays like any Gibson LP would. No weight Relief but who cares grow a set lol. Yes it’s a fan guitar but I love GNR I love slash so if you’re a 80s rock fan and want to rock out so it in style this guitar is awesome. Screw the haters!

I phoned ahead and put a deposit down because I really liked the look of the guitar. Im not a big GnR fan, they are a good band but not my deal. Really liked the look of the guitar and I am not a big fan of pick guards on Les Pauls. I played it for 5 minutes and decided that it was worth it. Some people post reviews saying its overpriced but honestly the AAA finish and top makes it worth the extra money. Mine has a one piece mahogany back on it which was a surprise, most are two piece, the pickups sound fantastic. The quality is top notch on the guitar and it stays in tune better than most Les Pauls because the nut has angled slots on the d and g string. The staff at Kamloops Long and McQuade were awesome to deal with. Comes with Schaller strap locks and some other stuff but really the money is in the look and playability of the guitar which is above most Les Pauls below custom shop prices.

Yeah, this is legit pretty awesome. It feels like a 59’, isn’t weight relieved, plays like a dream and just has all that mojo. You can’t tell it isn’t a custom shop. Pretty impressed, fellas.

Exactly what I wanted in a Les Paul. No guard, maple top, neck shape, pickups and wiring, no weight relief. And it sounds great. I ordered one from web store, returned it for QC reasons, the 2nd guitar came in a week later. Both had poor work done on the neck binding (among other issues) but I kept the 2nd guitar. The bridge studs were misaligned on the 1st guitar, to which Gibson said that's normal (the high E was 1mm from the edge of the fret at the neck joint). Excellent service from L+M, thanks guys! Poor service and workmanship from Gibson. Never buying Gibson again.

Where to start? Let's start with the visual aspect...This guitar is incredibly beautiful with its AAA maple top. The one I bought has particularly beautiful patterns in the wood (almost feline). The luthier work is so amazing it feels like an hommage to three legendary guitar players: Gibson, Les Paul and Slash. It plays unbelievably well, both in terms of sound and comfort. My other guitars pale in comparison. Also thanks to Ryan at the Orleans store for his dedication in providing excellent service!

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
