Breitkopf & Hartel 6 Sonatas Op. 51, Volume 1: Sonata I-III - Boismortier/Kubitschek - Flute/Violin Duet - Score/Parts
Additional Photos:
Composer: Joseph Bodin de Boismortier (1689 - 1755)
Editor: Ernst Kubitschek
Format: Score and Parts
Instrumentation: Flute and Violin Duet
Joseph Bodin de Boismortier was one of the most creative composers of his time. This is evidenced by over a hundred printed collections, usually with six sonatas or suites in several movements, which were published during his lifetime. The duets presented here are characterised by sonically appealing and compositionally original solutions. Chordal, but not difficult to play, the violin part is reminiscent of a basso continuo for violin and thus acts as an accompaniment to the flute.
This edition follows the first edition published in Paris in 1734 and is carefully provided with fingerings for the violin.
