When stringing a guitar these wouldn't be my first choice but I always carry them with my gear. A stand alone peg winder and pair of snips are much easier to use than this. The peg winder is cheap and the snips are awkward but I'm being a little harsh. Solid 5 stars for design but only a 4 on function. I would still recommend.

Purchased this today and changed the strings on my electric guitar. It works well. The string winder is firm, which I like because it doesn't wobble when your winding a string on. The clippers also work very well. I haven't used the clippers on thicker acoustic strings yet. I haven't used the bridge pin puller yet, but it looks like it will work well.

The Pro-Winder by Planet Waves is one of the most-used and most-affordable tools that any guitarist can have. In fact, I deem this tool essential for all guitarists, guitar techs, and those who change strings on a regular basis. I usually don't leave home without this peg winder in my guitar case, but Andrew Macfarlane stole mine. I guess I'll have to pick up another one at my local Long & McQuade.

Changing strings becomes very quick and easy with this tool. The winding action is smooth and fast, the clippers are very firm and will even manage 60+ gauge strings with ease, and the string stretcher gets rid of a lot of tuning headaches very quickly. Not the best peg winder money can buy, but definitely the best value.

Really useful tool and the winder fit well with both my Epiphone Power bass and Peavey Milestone tuning pegs. I was even able to use it, albeit awkwardly, for restringing my Ukelele.
