These fit and stay in which is key and they have two sets of filters, a case and neck lanyard. I bought dBuds as well and was not impressed. will buy a Vaters for my wife as well. Sound is attenuated but you can still hear speech and all frequencies.

Bought a pair and tried both filters; sounds identical to cheap foam ear plugs from my local drug store. I thought it would have cut out high pitches to enhance the bass sound of the drum kit, but that was not the case.

I've never met anyone with $200 to spend on custom molded ear plugs and, let's face it, if you're reading this you likely aren't interested in spending that much.
These ear plugs do dampen the mids and high frequencies most, but they still allow for a better overall "sound" than cheap foam plugs. In fact, on occasions where I've forgotten mine and gone with foam, I've always been annoyed because the Vater plugs sound so much better.
They're easy to clean and I love the little metal case - I can throw it in my cable bag after jam and forget about it!
Highly recommended - start protecting your ears early. Don't wait until you've got tinnitus like me.

They're cheap. They're comfortable. They work.
This is an investment in protecting your hearing. No they are not a perfect ear plug the mix and sound levels are not ideal. Occasionaly when jamming I have a want to pop them out and just listen to the mix as it is. But they do the job. You may need to mess around with the filters to get a better sound.
But they are far and away better than the normal hearing protectors(rollem up style plugs for example) for protecting your hearing and providing a decent access to the sound. If you can't afford 200$ earplugs then you should buy these and protect your hearing. You may regret not protecting those ears when they don't work for you anymore.

These earplugs are ok. best used for drumming practice as they cut the sharp sounds of the snare and cymbals down a little. They are better than some other "musicians" plugs I've tried. They don't attenuate sound evenly however, so for band practices and concerts you will lose some highs and mids making for....not an ideal mix. I highly recommend custom molded earplugs if you value your hearing and also a good sound mix. They are usually around $200, but trust me, they are so worth it!
