This is a decent piano bench, but for it's price I was expecting it to be of better quality.
Positives:
+ bench is stable once assembled with virtually no wobble
+ cushioning is good as I am able to easily sit on this bench for over an hour of practicing on the piano at a time
+ not too heavy (weighs around 15 lbs)
+ easy to assemble, or would be easy assuming you don't encounter any manufacturing defects (see my negatives)
Negatives:
- the bench I received had 2 legs with the bolts that attach them to the main bench installed slanted. So when it came time to attach those legs to the bench, the legs wouldn't stand straight upright. Had to do some handy work on them to get the bolts realigned properly
- it takes a long time to raise and lower the bench height. You've got to keep twisting the height adjustment knobs a lot just to get it to go up or down even a few centimeters.
- height adjustment knobs are made of cheap plastic as mine still had pieces of plastic flash attached to them
- the paint is glossy so it will show fingerprints.
Bottom line:
This is a decent bench that is sturdy and comfortable enough to sit on. Not recommended if you need to make frequent quick height adjustments, it's better for people who'll set it and leave it.
Mine may have been a fluke, but having something as simple as having bolts on 2 legs installed slanted from the factory is not a good thing (especially given this bench's price). Your quality may vary.
