TC Electronic Spark Booster Pedal
Additional Photos:
The Spark Booster guitar effects pedal works great as an always on type of effect, adding life, grit and compression to your sound in a way that oozes tone. Add body, punch and warmth to pickups and drive amps to peak performance. The Spark Booster also shines when used as a pure level boost. It's the perfect tool to prime solos, highlight parts and add dimension to your amp or distortion pedal.
The level knob allows you to add 26 dB of boost, raising the volume without altering the character of your tone. The Gain knob is perfect for adding a hint of breakup or slight compression to a clean amp.
The active EQ controls consist of Bass and Treble knobs. They form the perfect tone-shaping tool and amplify frequency areas, as well as be used to create deep, extended lows or to add beautiful top-end sparkle.
A toggle switch allows for three settings. The Clean setting boosts your signal equally across the frequency spectrum. The Fat setting fattens up sounds and adds life and punch to your sound, and allows for precise tonal shaping with the EQ and Gain knobs. The Mid-boost section provides a bump in the mids.

I've gone through several boost-type pedals over the years and was never quite satisfied with the results. Nothing against those particular models since they're all high-quality and respected units, they just didn't work for what I was needing at the time. I've also used the Spark Booster Mini, which is what helped with my decision to try the full-size model.
With the Spark Booster, I can get a proper clean boost with the ability to dial in the EQ not to mention choosing between going straight clean or adding either a bass or mid boost depending on the guitars and amps being used. Plus, this will push an already cooking tube amp into some serious sonic bliss.

Love this pedal. A boost pedal is a must with tube amps because it pushes the preamp tubes in a beautifull way without changing the amps sound. The Spark is great because your amp still sounds like your amp and it as a lot of options to tune in the boost you want. From a slight natural boost for solos or brightening up a amp, Bringing in the blues with the Fat switch or what I would call a overdrive sound when you turn up the gain on the mid switch. Tons of options and it really makes other gain pedals shine as well

I bought this thing after putting a few hours of playing into it (Thanks for allowing that L&M) and I couldn't be happier. It's super versatile going from just a simple signal booster to a killer sounding eq to legitimate valve driver! Fat mode is also really great for a Strat or Tele bridge pickup just to give it a bit of girth. It might seem a little pricey compared to stuff like the lpb-1, but it is worth well more than twice the price.

Wow, what a pedal, far from just a boost, I bought another one after buying the first just to be able to get two different kind of sound. Best overdrive too, this pedal is always on, part of my sound now, buy it.

I got this little gem when TC had a promo that required you to buy 2 pedals (I bought HOF and Dreamscape at L&C...both of which are beauts themselves) and they GAVE you this bad boy for FREE! I thought I would set it up as a simple boost pedal..I thought wrong. In the clean setting I can't decide if I like it on all the time or not; it definitely colours your tone but in such a beautiful way. The "mid" setting I think would be the best for actually boosting anything or pushing other dirt...but try er' out as a OD pedal in this setting as well. NOW, the "fat" setting is one of the most unique OD sounds I've heard and oohhh baby does it sound delish through my Gretsch with a subtle dose of reverb and delay. I've had some $300+ OD pedals and they kinda let me down...actually, don't buy this pedal: I want to keep this sound for me
