Epiphone's long friendship with Mr. Les Paul began in 1940 when Les built one of the world's first solid body electric guitars while working nights at the original Epiphone
factory in Manhattan. Les' first solid body guitar, nicknamed the Log, would go on to inspire the Les Paul Standard, what many consider the greatest electric guitar ever made.
The Les Paul Standard 50s models are part of Epiphone's new Inspired by Gibson Collection and recreate the sound of 1950s era Les Pauls. Featuring a classic Mahogany body with a Maple cap and Mahogany neck with long neck tenon. Powered by ProBucker™ humbuckers with 50s style wiring and CTS electronics.
Available in Metallic Gold, Vintage Sunburst, and Heritage Cherry Sunburst.

I am a left handed guitarist, and before I got this guitar, I was using my dad’s old right handed guitar restrung left handed. When I got this guitar, it was AMAZING. I was surprised on how easy it was to do string bends and two handed tapping. 5 out of 5.

I've been a hack since I was 16 and had the same left-handed acoustic since then. I saw this bad boy on sale and had to get it. I've played more in a month than in the past 20 years. The build and quality is excellent and feels really solid. Also, the delivery took only 2 days! As someone who works in customer success, I must say the online experience was fantastic.

I bought the exact same guitar in Levis Quebec last week , I was gonna pull the trigger on a Gibson standard 50's but in the end I couldn't wrap my head around the extra 2700$ . I'm not saying that it is the exact same quality but pretty darn close. I'm very happy with my purchase .

I picked up this great sounding 50s Les Paul a few weeks ago. Not only does it look amazing but has a heavy solid feel which keeps the strings vibrating forever. Took a while to get used to the thicker neck profile and now I prefer it better than a 60s slim taper. The 50s style wiring is great. Overall, perfect, affordable, gigable, solid guitar…. 5 stars

Very nice, well built with a professional feel
The neck fills out the hand perfectly. Reviews are correct. Very nice work by epiphone. Action was very high but nothing more than you cant expect to have taken care of with most import brands. Fretboard could use some lemon oil.
Highly recommend

Hummed and Hawed about what to do. Spend the $2K plus for a full Gibson Les Paul Studio or Epiphone. Played multiple Gibson's (studio, junior, tribute) and enjoyed them. Picked up both this one and the Gold Top (which is beautiful) and plugged in. The neck, which is big (bigger than my American Start) but a really nice feel. Fretboard is really nice. The quality of this guitar is stunning. Feels and looks solid. This Cherry Burst wood is stunning. Don't care what anyone says. This is a beautiful guitar. It was set up very nice at the store out of the box (Gonna take it back for a full over set up by pro's) but wanted to get home and really plug it in. Did I mention tone ? Unbelievable. Tone and volume buttons are beautiful and sensitive. Crank it up or mellow. I get the "brand" for some who must have a Gibson. But unless you are buying a Heritage 50's @ $3199, you won't get close to this workmanship. I wanted, and went in to get a Gibson. It was time. But this kept bringing me back, and the price, sorry, you can't beat it. I don't believe you will find a under $1000 guitar this good. Period. Flame maple top is stunning. Paint job is amazing. Lots of forums where Epiphone is closely matching the old 50's and 60's Gibsons and they have defiantly done it with this. Save a couple thousand and try this. You won't be disappointed. Of course, as always, my local LM is amazing. They re so awesome in Nanaimo. They have all been working there for years and know their stuff. Always great to deal with. Buy this guitar, worth every penny.

I went through every review I could find before I bought this guitar, and I am more than impressed. First, the picture on the L&M site does NOT do it justice! This guitar is beautiful! It's not L&M's fault, I've read a number of times that many digital cameras have problems taking pictures of the veneer (not just on these but many guitars)
Now, sound... after playing, and listening to many (better) players, I agree with most of the reviewers out there. the Probucker pickups sound a little brighter than the Gibson burstbuckers. The Gibson 50s (2020) does have a little "more" in the mid-range. NOT $2,500 more.. I'm sure if it bugs you $400 for burstbuckers will make you whole.
Now that said... after listening to actual 58-59 Gibson Les Pauls (online), and any number of Gibson 59 "heritage" or "tribute" guitars, I'm not sure but it sounds like the Epiphone Probuckers may actually come closer to the original sound (please direct all hate to your favourite 8chan channel... I can't take the heat).
But really, listening to '57 pickups from Gibson, these Probuckers are really close. Burstbucker pros are by far the "hottest" - read deepest/warmest - burstbuckers are slightly warmer, but Epiphone has done a fantastic job with these!
Everything else you read online is also true, the neck is solid mid-C shape and feel, the weight is ... exactly what you expect from a vintage Les Paul, the sustain goes on forever and it's just a joy to play. I've even tried playing without an amp, comparing this to my Ibanez, and you can hear the deep resonance in the wood.
If you, like me, want to play an Awesome Les Paul (50s style), and aren't headlining any major tours (and to be fair, if you can find an audience where they can tell the difference with a full band around you I will be impressed), this is the Guitar to own!

I've waited my whole life for a lefty Epiphone Les Paul Goldtop, and it doesn't disappoint! The quality is top notch. No issues with any of the factory setup. It's heavier than my LP Custom, and I like that. The neck is thicker too, and that suits this model. I believe the best thing you can do with an LP, is keep it stock. That way it retains that LP sound, but at the same time, the stock hardware has to be good, right? Well the stock hardware on this model are perfect. This one shouldn't be overlooked, it's a steal at this price!

Picked this up as my last 'all features i want in one' guitar...long tenon, no weight relief, maple cap, thick neck and 50s wiring. Not a fan of the ProBuckers, but in this one actually sounded pretty good. But alas, this was destined for my fave 57/57+ combo. And WOW. Sounds just as good or better as my 2016 Gib Trad. I have been Epi preferred since Gib started drilling holes in bodies. Best value in guitars right now hands down. Get the 60's if you like a thinner neck. I may sell the Trad and get 2 or 3 of these. They are that good.

An amazingly high quality guitar that will not disappoint even the most hardent Gibson purist. Available at a price that makes this gem a must for anyone who has dreamed of owning a top end Gibson Les Paul Standard or a Traditional model, but just doesn't have the readies.
Built to the highest levels, and using the best of hardware, the end result will surely satisfy even the most picky of those who get a rash if it isn't a 'Gibby'.
Of course there have been a few changes in the usual construction methods of a one or two piece body Gibson LP Standard, but nothing that will remotely hamper the sound quality or tone of the Epi. Just mainly invisible stuff that helps us to afford this gorgeous guitar.
Even the renowned long neck tenon that Gibson owners tend to let us believe is 'unmatchable' has been matched. A beautiful maple flamed cap hides the mahogany inner body, as does the mahogany backing which provides us with a very professional finish.
The pickups, in this case a pair of 'Probuckers', are sublime, and are a excellent match for the rest of the top line electronics which take this guitar into heady territory.
My own purchase was/is the vintage cherry red model which is nicely finished to go with the flamed top. I like it very much. I like all of it; both looks, feel and sound.
I own a number of top end CS LP's and this Epiphone can hold it's own with any of them. A brilliant introduction from the newly 'inspired' Epiphone Company.
Any faults? Well yes; they don't come with a case, hard or soft. Just a free polythene bag. No faults with the parts that really matter however, thank goodness!

Just bought this guitar and it’s great! Has the nice 50’s baseball bat neck that I like for bigger hands, and the finish (even though it is just a veneer) is gorgeous. The pickups sound great, nice and bell like and have lots of nice grit when hit with some drive. Only complaints on the guitar is some minor cosmetic issues, such as the pots not lining up with where the volume knob and tone knobs stop, and the quick connect wiring. Perfect fret edges and setup from off the wall. Very happy with the purchase!

Well first off I normally do not write reviews but with the 2020 50s Epiphone Les Paul I feel I need to share. This thing is a beast through my EVH 5150, thick, Rich and very articulate tone with a nice deep thump. I'm impressed with the probuckers. Normally I would right away swap out for the classic 57s but these seem to have everything I want in a pickup. I have owned and played alot of guitars over the last 40 years of playing, from $100 to $3000 plus guitars and this one is every bit in the top of the heap. I'm not normally a heritage cherry guy but this one has a nice burst into a natural wood color not some yellow dyed pissy color, stands out nice with a beautiful flame to it. Kudos to Trevor at Long and Mcquade for an excellent setup, intonation and action is spot on. Sales and Service was top notch. This is one of the best Les Paul's I have ever played at any price point, love the chunky neck. Well that is my two cents. Definately worth checking out, just be prepared to come home with one.

I normally don't Write reviews but I feel that people need to know about this guitar. I have played alot of guitars through my 40 years of playing and Epiphone got this one right, easily beating out even the most expensive Gibsons. Played over 5 hours last night and did not want to stop. I'm normally not a Heritage Cherry guy but the way the red fades into the natural wood color is perfect with a beautifully flamed veneer. Sounds absolutely amazing through my EVH 5150. Kudos to Trevor at Long and Mcquade for the set up, the intonation and action are spot on. Tuning stability was never an issue. If you are thinking of getting a top quality Les Paul at any price point this is the one and at this price point you will have enough left over to get a couple peddles as well. Well that is my two cents. Worth buying over and over again.

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty
A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.
Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.
How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.
Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.
Purchasing additional years of coverage
Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.
If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:
NEW products: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
USED products: 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. 4% for each additional year.
GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
