I have a Rodes NT1studio mic that is quite heavy. This mic stand is far too tall for my desk even if I sit on pillows. So when I tilt the mic to the level of my mouth area, it topples over. Also I had to rummage around my basement to find a wrench that would fit the nuts so I could tightly adjust it. Then I searched for heavy duty coated wire to wrap around the mic stand to secure it at about 25º angle and it just kept sliding down. I'm not about to start building a platform so it won't fall over and I would have to find a welder or something to wedge into it to secure it. And at that angle it takes up a lot of space on my desk. With this review, driving to the store 4 times including returning it., I've lost about 4 hours of my life I'll never get back. Although it's good quality, I don't know why they would design a mic stand for a desk that can't go shorter than 15" tall!

Have bought 2 the the On-Stage table top Mic stands and love them but this Apex blows them out of the water in every area. deff worth the extra $10 to $15 bucks no doubt about it!!!!!!

I love these small footprint stands. I use them on stage and they never get kicked by the other players... unlike a large vocal mic stand would.
They're well made and worth every dollar.

Using regularly with sm57 to mic various amps. Very useful and more ideal then using a full size mic stand.
