Quarter-inch diameter Alnico 5 rod magnets and hot coil windings deliver attitude and power. This neck and bridge pickup set has it all: hot output, great attack and massive attitude. The 1/4" diameter pole pieces and hot coil windings deliver a full, even response with great sustain and complexity that are at home in any genre of music. The neck pickup is RW/RP (reverse wind reverse polarity) for hum cancellation when both pickups are used together. These pickups are a drop-in replacement for any American Standard Jazz Bass.

Hand built in Santa Barbara, CA the Quarter Pound for Jazz Bass uses Alnico 5 rod magnets and Forbon flatwork, and is wax potted for squeal-free operation. Comes with black cover.

I have used these on my MIJ Geddy Lee and my American Special. I found both stock pups a little thin, and the SD 1/4lb filled that out. The higher output with the bigger magnets helped with the single coil noise problem as well

I found the pickups on a Geddy Lee to be a bit thin sounding for my taste. I put in the 1/4 lb.ers and the fundementals were much stronger. There are lots of highs available too. I suggest putting both in at the same time if you like to mix the 2 pickups. These are NOT humbuckers.
