La GRG121DX commence par le corps iconique de la série RG d'Ibanez, construit en peuplier (okoumé pour la finition WNF). Il est ensuite équipé d'un manche GRG en érable avec une touche en Purpleheart, des frettes jumbo et des incrustations en dents de requin. Le F106 est un type de pont hardtail simple pour les débutants. I bought this guitar thinking it would be a cheap but good enough instrument to use it for outdoor practice over the summer... Now I would never do that to it because it has earned a special place in my collection. I wasn't expecting to get the guitar I got for the price I paid. It sounds really very good, and it shreds. It's a plain but good looking guitar, the build quality is above what I have experienced in the past with other entry level guitars. There were some minor issues like some screws for the tuners being not flush or a bit crooked but it was very easy to fix all of that. The only real complaints I have, and it's more of an annoyance than something that actually affects playing, is that the frets stick out the tiniest bit at the bottom of the fretboard where the fingers slide along while playing, but I think that should be pretty easy to take care of once I take off the factory strings (they were in a surprisingly good state so I didn't want to waste them) and can flush them off a bit. Also the tuning stability is not the best, it's quite sharp when you strike the string even trying to do so gently, and then settles quite flat, so it can be a bit of an exercise to find a good sweet spot between the two so there isn't as much of a noticeable pitch difference. It's manageable though. Overall if you are a parent looking to get your child into guitar and they are ready for a full size guitar, or you yourself are looking to get into guitar, or even if you just want an extra guitar to setup with thicker strings for C or B tuning that won't break the bank then this guitar is an excellent choice. I would 100% buy this guitar again.

The quality says it all this is the best guitar in my collection and I have a standard and a CV 60's tele. So if your looking for an Ibanez under 1 grand this is your best option so go for it. But one thing to keep in mind, the one I got did have two little slits in the neck binding but I hope you get a better one.

This guitar is worth every penny because this guitar delivers anything from smooth rock to heavy rock I am very pleased with this guitar well done Ibanez.

I owned the guitar for a few weeks and for the price of the guitar, I thought I would have to mod at least a couple things but after a set up and throwing on a set of 11-56 Ernie ball power slinky strings, she plays AMAZING! She holds tune super well even travelling across a town that holds half a million people waiting half hour for a city bus in -5°C weather in soft carrying gig bag. I just wasn’t a fan of the jumbo frets with a hand injury I had 2 summers prior so I traded it for something with more narrow frets.

I got it on a trade and was going to flip it, but I restrung it and cleaned it up and it is a keeper. Neck is awesome, the pickups sound good. Love the shark teeth inlays. Great sound with some fuzz. Ibanez made great guitars at any price.

I don't have anything to compare this to, as this is my first electric guitar. After having played a classical guitar for decades, finger picking I decided that I wanted to practice at work. I have my own business, so I can afford to do this and create the time. I bring along a mini modeling amp, dial in a tone and I am learning new guitar skills and music theory along the way. The guitar sounds great through the amp with or without headphones. Very pleased with this guitar and it is easier to navigate the fretboard then a classical guitar.

I bought this guitar because of great reviews, and I was not disappointed. I needed another guitar (don't we all?) because I didn't want to take my expensive G&L to play around campfires. I was a bit nervous about buying a guitar sight unseen during the pandemic, but it worked out great. As far as I can tell, the neck measurements are exactly the same as the G&L. The intonation is good, it sounds good, it has a nice range of sounds with the 5 way selector switch, I think the shark inlays are cool, 24 easily reachable frets, and noticeably lighter than my other electric. Last, but not least, if someone doesn't like my music and throws the guitar into the campfire, well, I can afford to get another one :) I play this guitar almost exclusively.

I loved this guitar when I bought it about a month and a half ago at my local L&M, and I still love this guitar today. Aside from the volume pot, which could be more linear, everything else about it screams quality: Polished frets, smooth fret ends, low action, good pick-ups, flawless walnut finish and a comfortable satin neck. It's a lot of fun to play - I've barely touched my Gibson SG since I bought this guitar - and a heck of a value at ~$300.

The guitar offers much for the price. Out of the box, it plays very well with a very low action for fast runs. The pickups are good as they are though, a bridge pickup upgrade might add to an already very good sound. The tuners after a few days still hold well. There are no major problems with the instrument. However, be warned. As one reviewer already mentioned, the walnut finish isn't as transparent as the ones viewed online. Mine is very dark, almost a brown-black and depending on lighting, it sometimes looks like a black guitar. On the other hand, for roughly $300, one can't complain since the instrument's playability offers so much for the price. I already own 2 Gibson LP's and I still enjoy very much this affordable Ibanez. It's ideal for simply playing out without having to worry about waking on its own and never seen again. It offers many potential for upgrades a guitar tinkerer would enjoy. I could see it with Grover gold machine heads and bridge; perhaps gold volume and tone controls and an EMG 4 passive humbucker in the bridge position. All in all, its a great instrument for a beginner or a season player needing a backup. I highly recommend it.

Bought this two weeks ago. Shipped fast and happy overall. It’s a very good guitar for the money. The good: plays decent and sounds awesome! Handles D and C standard like a beast. The fret ends are better then expected. Not to heavy, but not too light. The bad: the neck on mine wasn’t sanded very well, its pretty rough. Also, the volume pot is stiff. This guitar has no volume control on it, it’s either off or on. The nut appears to be poorly cut, but I haven’t had any tuning issues. But a little polishing and it’ll be perfect. The fret lengths have not been polished.

The first thing that got my attention was the color, it is a dark brown/ wine red pretty cool, but the magic is when you try it.. neck it is smooth and thin, frets are awesome. For the pick ups, I prefer the neck one, the bridge is ok, but the neck makes me want to do some cool lead guitar and get lost in the sustain. Got this guitar one month ago from my wife and I love it, specially for the price. This guitar actually makes me want to play more, so that is good.

Very impressed with this axe. I used to own a $700 non-Gio Ibanez SAS32EX which didn't feel or sound as good as this thing. Super fast neck with very low action right out of the box. This thing (almost) feels as good as a proper $1000+ Ibanez Prestige with a Wizard neck. I really can't over-emphasize how good the setup on this guitar was right out of the box. I almost always tinker with a new guitar, but this thing needed no adjustment whatsoever. For $300, you might expect the kind of fret job that you wouldn't dare bring home to your mother - not the case. Frets are completely flush with the side of the fretboard, and aren't going to need any dressing. Guitar has good intonation right out of the box. I'm a big fan of playing with the side of my palm resting on the bridge, and its way more comfortable to play on this than on the spiky, stabby bridge on my Tele. This thing sounds goooood. If I heard it sight unseen, I'd think it was a much pricier guitar. Humbuckers sound beefy, and it cleans up really nice with the pickups split in positions 2 & 4. I love how Ibanez seems to have a hard-on for coil splitting. Even if you only use it once a month, why not have the option to play on single coils when you get the tickle? And in this case, its not exactly like you're paying a premium for the feature. A few cons: - The finish on my example doesn't look nearly as interesting or "premium" as the picture on the Long & McQuade site. In the photo, you can really see the grain of the wood on the body, and it looks like they've only applied a few thin coats of lacquer over the wood. On mine, it looks like Ibanez saw that beautiful Mahogany body and thought, nah, we'll paint it brown and just leave the tiniest bit of the wood grain poking through. It looks homogenous and bland. I can see myself re-finishing this guitar in the future. This is the only reason i'm not giving it 5's across the board. - I keep bashing my hand into the top knob, mostly when hammering chords. Kind of annoying, but I've adjusted for the most part. Definitely more of a subjective con. On the flip side, it's convenient having the volume knob nearby for adjustments on the fly. I'm assuming this is was the idea when Ibanez stuck the knob where they did. One word of caution for the prospective buyer - a review from "theguitarjunky.com" claims that this has a conventional 3 way pickup selector, but that's not the case. It's a 5 way with full-beans humbuckers in position 1, 3, and 5, and coil splitting in 2 & 4 (I.E it deactivates one of the coils on the humbuckers). Perhaps it was a review for an older version of the guitar without coil splitting. Anyways, be sure to look up the mapping for the 5 position switch on the Ibanez website before buying because it's a bit unintuitive. To sum it all up, I've been playing for 14 or so years and have owned a plethora of guitars ranging from from awful to wonderful, and this is the best bang-for-buck electric Guitar I've played or owned with the exception of the Squier Classic vibe range (although prices have hiked quite a bit in the past few years). I should also mention that although I've never played one, I've heard nothing but praise for the Yamaha Pacifica range, and those can be had for even cheaper than these, so definitely check them out if you're here chasing your first electric guitar. I hate to issue the generic "If you have a pulse and play guitars, you'll love it!!" recommendation, but seriously; this is a solid HH 6 string for beginners and more advanced players alike. I got it because I didn't own an HH 6 string, and this thing is filling its nice nicely. I love this guitar.

I bought this today and so far super happy with it Some youtubers have complained the pickups suck but I like them just fine! They’re pretty good to my ear The only thing I am wondering is why mine is not walnut, it’s more of a dark cherry brown and almost black. Mine needed some setup too, action was a little higher than I prefer. Still, awesome sounding and looking guitar!
