World famous for making some of the best and most innovative hollow-body guitars, Epiphone conjures up some of its past with the NEW Emperor Swingster Royale. Starting with the same body and neck as used on their Emperor-II guitar and made famous by the jazz master himself, Joe Pass, Epiphone swings into action and turns it into a serious rock-a-billy/country machine!

Classic Construction with SwingBucker Pickups!
With it's hand-scalloped arched Spruce top combined with a laminated arched-back maple body and glued-in 3-piece Hard maple neck, the Swingster has what it takes to satisfy any professional's demand for great tone. At the heart of the guitar are Epiphone's NEW SwingBucker pickups and a series/parallel electronics switching package that outperforms all others in its class. Specially designed for the Swingster, the humbuckers offer no-hum performance and feature classic Alnico-V magnets, enamel wire and over-wound coils for the perfect combination of warmth and bite.

Loads of Bling
Topping it all off are Epiphone's trademark, multi-bound headstock with the classic pearloid "vine" inlay, premium Grover tuners and a multi-bound, 20 fret rosewood fingerboard with block inlay. Gorgeous!
But wait... there's MORE!
Unlike some, Epiphone spares no expense by adding a "pinned" tune-o-matic bridge with roller saddles for smooth operation and accurate return to pitch that is preferred when using a vibrato.

I am pleased with my purchase. The negatives are minor and this guitar can cover a wide range of music. The pickups are versatile although the humbucker choice is louder. As a full hollow-body there can be feedback issues, but for blues, jazz, rockabilly and R&R there are great tones available. There are minor cosmetic negatives. It doesn't include the classy tortoise-shell pickguard the Joe Pass model does. The Bigsby casting had minor misses. The volume controls have no pointers and the labels are just glued to the body. Operational negatives are a short Bigsby arm; pretty but too wiggly. The volumes seem to have no treble bleed caps so turning down cuts treble a little; is this a bug or a feature? The jack on mine rotated when I removed the cable. The finish is lovely, the tuners nice and slow and there's intonation and set-up allowance to spare. A good value and a keeper.

If you want a beautiful looking guitar, you've got it. If you want a fantastic playing, and sounding guitar, it's that also. The best guitar I've ever owned. Well done, Epiphone.

More awesome than I anticipated when I ordered it. Beautiful finish, very minor flaws no one would notice without being pointed out. Sound, and versatility first class. Easy to play, feels great. Highly recommended, for that price range.

This guitar is beautiful..I got the black pearl with chrome hardware..The guitar feels more like a Gretsch 6120 than a Epiphone but with a few minor quality flaws..had a few rattles from loose parts, the bigsby is abit noisey...but the guitar is a 10 in the sound department.

I recently got this guitar and have had about a week to play around with it, and I LOVE this guitar. It sounds so lovely unplugged and I really like the feature to switch in and out of a humbucking sound and a single-coil sound with a pull of the tone knob. The only flaw I noticed was a few over sprays and some mis-sprays on the white finish, but these are so minor that I had to scan the guitar for flaws. Overall, this guitar will definitely will be one my main guitars that I will play for the next few years.

This guitar to me is well made and sounds great. With the swingbucker pickups it gives you a great range of incredible sounds and playability. It's not a guitar you can make huge bends on because the string will slip out of the roller at the bridge, but if your looking to make a full step bend it will work just fine. The visuals of the guitar are just beautiful. There are only super minor flaws that can be found under intense scrutiny, but nothing that effects the sound. I do wish they had made the fret marker dots on the side of the neck more visible. But after I got used to the feel of the guitar I hardly notice it. When I first plugged it in I had a problem with feedback. I figured out that the gain needs to be low so you don't get resonance. I like to play classic rock blues and pop, If you want a dark metal sound this is probably not the guitar for you, although I'm sure its possible in the right hands. Overall I'm very satisfied with the quality of this guitar.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
