If you want to try to capture that early Sabbath sound, this is a good place to start. The clear, singing tone of the P90s, coupled with the thin and lightweight, very resonant body, and C# standard tuning using light-gauge strings, will get you right into "Riff-master" territory without sacrificing your fingertips.
The neck is very thin and wide - thinner and flatter around the back than my SG Pro. The "worn" finish on that thin neck makes it very fast-feeling, and it will wear over time into a really comfortable semi-gloss feel. I had to lower the neck pickup height slightly to address unwanted interference with the strings during heavy picking.
Epiphone uses the same cheap toggle switch in every electric I've ever owned or played, including this one. The contacts foul easily and the signal is occasionally muted or cut entirely when you switch pickups, and you have to flick the toggle back and forth a few times to clean it up. This might be fixable with a can of de-oxi spray, and is certainly fixable with an upgrade to a Switchcraft or other high-quality toggle switch.

I got this guitar as a birthday gift on my 12th birthday (I'm almost 14 now) and this is one of my favorite guitars I've ever played, it plays very well, has great sounding pick-ups great for rock and metal, it's still my go to axe to play and my favorite out of all my guitars(I've got 3) things wish it had:
1- a thinner neck(its just a personal preference for when I do tapping)
2- active pick-up(another personal preference I just like the sound of active pick-ups
3- fewer knobs ( you really only need one volume and tone. well at most 2 tones or 2 volumes but still no need for 4 knobs)

The wife likes picking out guitars for me and never would not pick this guitar until I tried it out myself.wow those p 90s are very hot .was on sale for 499.00 and decided at that price SOLD. me on it . Great neck and it’s light . A real joy to play.and the tone is well balanced between each setting.

I really like this guitar. Just bought this one because I've wanted an SG for a long and the green finish is unusual for this body style. I was quite surprised buy the playability right out of the the case. The neck profile feels good in the hand. The only issue I had with the build is the neck loint having sharp ledge near the front strap post, but I rarely play that high up the fretboard. Running straight through the board with a few different amp models and effects chains I've been able to get my old favorite tones and the pick ups are hotter than you'd think for this price point. This will definitely be one of my go to axes for a long time.

Wasn’t actually in the market for an SG as I thought I didn’t like SG’s. Picked up this one and was really taken back. Very little neck dive and very playable as is. Thought I’d better try the Gibson equivalent to make sure and they didn’t have one with p90s. The one I had tried with humbuckers wasn’t impressive so back to the epiphone. After a string change and set up this little guy rocks.

I am very happy with the guitar, having said that, if you follow the reviews on epiphone's 2020 guitars, mine had the very common high spot on the 4th fret. Not really an issue for me, as I put a bigsby on it immediately. If I didnt know how to fix it, I would have returned it. However, if not for that issue, for $600 all in, incredible value and could of been 5/5

Love the passion of the other review from Alberta. I hope he really does enjoy the instrument forever. That is what is all about. He made a good choice for his 2nd ever guitar because these are awesome. Epiphone pickups have come long ways and the p90 pros are no exception. I'm a p90 guy. Bought a dc tribute junior almost 2 years ago and if these were out back then I probably would have picked up one of these and a special for the same price as the dc tribute. Love the satiny finish on these. Tunomatic bridge helps if you dislike wraparounds. I will definitely be picking one of these up. You cant go wrong for the price. The inspired by gibson line is a good direction for epiphone but they have been doing good stuff out of china the last 10 years or so.

this is the second guitar i've ever owner, and I fronted the cost all by myself.
I would not return this guitar for my soul, or for money. it plays like a dream, isn't too much, and honestly was exactly what i was looking for. Love this guitar. If this is your first guitar, get it. Don't mess with a squire strat, I could physically feel mine hindering my playing. I have no problems with this guitar, and i will continue to not have any problems
