The new POLAR 10 boasts features that until today were found only on far pricier systems, such as a four-channel mixer with five programmable user presets, Bluetooth 5.0 audio streaming, and remarkably assertive bass response.
POLAR 10 consists of a subwoofer and two columnar elements. The elegant contours of the subwoofers birch ply housing are not just cosmetic; the enclosure is acoustically shaped and sized to deliver excellent audio results in combination with a specially developed 10" woofer sporting an extra-long voice coil. Driven by a muscular 2,000-watt power amplifier, this combination delivers rich, low-ranging bass response that packs an impressive punch even at high volumes.
The midrange/HF column comes in two sections for easy transport. The top section is loaded with six high-performance 3 midrange drivers and a low-distortion, 1 constant directivity horn. The system delivers well-balanced, exceedingly natural sound, rendering everything from low-mid frequencies all the way up to 20 kHz with remarkable authority. Tuned to project an expansive 120 throw pattern and engineered to impede feedback, it gives users freedom choice when it comes to positioning the PA in venues. Placed behind the speaker or performer, it can also serve as a stage monitor to take the place of wedges in many scenarios.
The newly developed E.A.S. connect system links the three components. Simple, safe and sturdy, this smart set of couplers requires no cables. Setting POLAR 10 on a raised stage is not a problem; it can still be aimed at the correct height by simply leaving the column's bottom section - which is a spacer - out of the stack.
The four-channel mixer offers two mic/line channels, one instrument channel for an acoustic guitar or similar, and one aux channel for music players. POLAR 10 can also render audio streams wirelessly via Bluetooth 5.0, which has four times the range of Bluetooth 4.0. The mixer's settings may be stored in five presets, to be accessed later as the situation requires.
POLAR 10's stylish visuals are no coincidence. Its designers shaped the column's elegant looks for it to fit right in at even the most upmarket gala event. The system also comes complete with a padded gig bag for the columnar elements and a padded cover to protect the subwoofer in transit.

I've never liked Bose columns. They seriously lack lower midrange (from the crossover point and up about an octave). I've always figured it was the tiny speakers.
Today I bought the HK. Much smoother in the crossover frequencies (again, the speakers are 33% larger.)
I bought this for my duo, piano and guitar/2 vocals run off a Flow 8 digital mixer giving me compression/parametric EQ/effects. I never plan to use the built in mixer, but why didn't they include reverb in case I did? Major goof there. If I just want to go out guitar/vocal I still need to bring an external mixer. Enough about that.
Sound? I've only run it with some of my own very well produced/properly mastered music. Might be a bit harsh, but easy to tone down highs. Needs a bump from 150-300 Hz. Very good volume for it's size (louder than Bose Pro 8).
Value? 100%. To me it was much better than Bose and Yorkville, and on par with EV (at almost twice the price).
Outstanding 5 year warranty!

I physically couldn’t handle all the speaker boxes, stands, cables, and sub woofers anymore. I’m sick of being a roadie.
I play in an old time rock and roll legion band with real drums and guitar amps. We tried using the polar like a Bose unit behind us but it was whistling and feeding back. We put it on the side by me and used one powered Bose monitor on the other side of the stage and it was awesome. I couldn’t discern whether the Bose monitor on the other side of the stage was even on because the polar beside me was so loud
Good kick drum. For a big outdoor gig we used two polar 10s and it was great. The polar is great for vocals. I’m less hoarse after a gig.
I’m 63 and by using this set up I can gig for years.

Just picked one up today. Was planning on the 12 but the more I listen to the 10, I think the low end would only over power what the tops will put out. The onboard e.q. is really easy to figure out and Bluetooth works really well. As soon as I got home, I set it up outside and played a song from my phone, I was about 50 feet down my back yard controlling the mix off my phones e.q and it was plenty for one column, I wouldn't expect anymore for what it cost. Tomorrow night I'll be playing a duo gig with vocals guitars and fiddle at times for a crowd of about 120, we'll see how it holds up. But in the end, it all comes down to making the best with the sound you have and getting firmillar with it before a live show, that's what I'm doing right now since the past two hours or so. I'd like to thank Dan & Lyndon, they are always my go to guys at L&M in Sydney.

I gotta say I was somewhat skeptical about these since column speakers are notorious for sounding inferior to traditional cabinets but honestly other than lacking a little bit in the mid/upper bass frequencies, they sound absolutely fantastic for the price range and are perfect for most of the minimal-leaning electronic music I play on them.
Of course due to the design that sacrifice in certain frequency ranges was to be expected, and overall it's build quality, features (built in DSP, Bluetooth, excellent I/O) and it's convenience/ease of transportation/setup are all more than enough to make up for that small caveat.
I own two and use them in stereo as the mains for my home system as well as hauling them around for the odd house party or small event around town. (which is extremely convenient due to their size and weight). Obviously there are still better sounding solutions out there and by nature traditional cabs will always outperform column speakers in overall range but the combination of good value, robust quality and thoughtful design features make these worth it for me.
It should however be noted than when I purchased my pair back in 2021 they were on sale for $800 a piece compared to current price of $1099 so I got quite a bit more "value" out of them but I honestly still think they're worth the current price, especially with everything else rising as well.

Nicely built system. Lots of low end bass and volume, but lacks clarity - especially at higher volumes. Had to return it for another system. Perhaps it was just this one as most seem to be very pleased with them. Price is definitely right, but couldn’t stand the lack of mid and high clarity.

I bought a pair of these after hearing how great they sounded. That was in a room that could hold about 50 people. I went to use them for a wedding of about 125 people and in the center of the dance floor it wasn't loud at all. You could still talk normal and hear each other. While that might be okay for an older crowd the younger ones were asking to turn it up. The limits kick in when blasting it loud and also doesn't sound clean when its at max volume. For events under 75 people they are great. If you are over 100 people you might want to look at bigger speakers or buying a 3rd or 4th unit to help fill the room.

Haven’t gigged with it yet but will soon. Set up and tested it out with the bluetooth and my iphone. This things got a ton of headroom and sounds excellent!
Mixer is intuitive enough, very rudimentary. I figured it all out in about 5 minutes before checking the manual. I guess if it had onboard effects and channel mutes it wouldn’t come at this price point, so I’m giving a 3.5 for features, but a 5 for value.
Will be running my little soundcraft mixer so that solves all that anyway.
The entire rig weighs less than 60lb. I’ve hiked heavier combo amps up two flights. It does have a fairly big footprint, but will fit in the backseat of pretty much any 4 door.
Very happy with my purchase.

Nothing but good things to say about these speakers. I am using them for stage monitors. Sounds very clean. Tuned down the high -6db and bass -2db. No extra graphic eq was needed. I am super happy with them. I now owned 5 HK polar 10. I would Imagine the polar would be too much bass for monitors. Happy customer and I totally tell everyone to check it out if they are in the market for column array tower.

For a Dj or Band you really can’t beat the value and quality of this unit. I have now purchased two of them and my buddy has also purchased a pair after borrowing mine. We have an opportunity to pair up both sets ( 4 ) for an upcoming outdoor band gig , looking forward to hearing what we get out of them.
Once you figure out all the options on the digital display the fun really begins.

Product Experience I've tried it
Closest Store Edmonton Highlands, Alberta
Let me first say I returned this because it is too heavy and bulky for me.
At this price - and on sale on top of that - I really wanted to love and keep this unit. I'm using it for small to medium outdoor shows where I'm a one-man band. This means I have to carry guitars, pedalboard and the PA. I'm looking for the most power I can find in a package light enough for me to carry. The sub alone is nearly 60 lbs. After bringing this into my home and down some stairs one time I realized this isn't something I want to be doing dozens of times this summer.
If only they made exactly this but 20% less tall and less heavy, I'd be sold. Heck - I'd even take 20% less powerful in the trade and it'd be well worth the money at the current price.
It's heavier and larger than any line array I've used (Bose l1 compact and l1Pro8, EXM Mobile, HK Lucan Nano).
That said - this sounds great and has a ton of bass. More than I remember the L1Pro8 having from renting it last summer. It's also MUCH more stable than the new Bose units and comes with cases. The bluetooth is a great addition and super handy for playing music between sets. There's not much in the way of EQ and no effects, but I have vocal effects and guitar effects before I ever send those into the unit anyways, so no big deal for me.
I will say the "big beefy batmobile" aesthetic isn't for me either, but that's just a matter of taste. The design is great and I'm sure many people will love it. I don't think you can find a better system for the money - just don't forget to factor in a gym membership.

After much research i bought a pair of these for my 5 piece band. The sound is phenomenal and much easier to set up and transport that the old Yorkville speakers/stands etc. We run 4 vocals, 2 guitars and sometimes electric drums (if not using acoustic drums) and also bass through our yorkville m810 powered amp going out to 2 HK arrays. At 2000w a side its more power than you will need. The sound is crazy good, vocals crisp and clear and zero feedback. I have heard others using them at the back of the stage to eliminate monitors but we haven\'t tried that yet. At $900(on sale) each they are a bargain for sure compared to the Bose array system. I highly recommend them. Its the way to go going forward.

I rented the Polar 10. Absolutely love the sound. Very full. The DSP options were great. The sound was consistent at all levels. Portable but built well. Still had some substance to it. Great wide sound dispersion but was able to throw the sound to the far ends of the room. I used it to DJ for almost 50 people (covid rules) and it was more than enough. I'm sure it would handle 100. I'd love to buy a pair someday for crowds of 150. Can't beat the value here. Half point off because I can't turn the top to direct sound on the fly.

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty
A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.
Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.
How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.
Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.
Purchasing additional years of coverage
Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.
If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:
NEW products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
USED products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
