Walton Spes (Hope) - Valkeapaa/Makaroff - SSAA
Additional Photos:
Text Author: Nils Aslak Valkeapaa
Music: Mia Makaroff
Format: Choral Octavo
Languages: Sami/Latin
Voicing: SSAA divisi a cappella
Spes is a joyous unaccompanied work for more advanced treble choirs. The composer has combined two texts about hope - one in Sami (a language from northern Scandinavia) and the other in Latin from Ecclesiastes - to create a work that uplifts. Challenging but incredibly fun, this would make a great concert opener or program centre and would be perfect for honour choirs and festivals.
