Triple Stereo Loops
Create, stack, and manipulate multi-layered loops with the RC-300s three stereo tracks each track being independently controllable. The Auto Recording feature starts recording the moment you begin playing your instrument, or as soon as you start a connected audio player. Count-In mode gives you one-bar of rhythm before recording starts. You can Undo/Redo as you go. The skys the limit with three hours of recording time!

Expanded Pedalboard
The RC-300s ultra-wide pedalboard is equipped with an Expression pedal (which can be assigned to a variety of parameters) and enlarged footswitches for controlling REC/PLAY and STOP for each track. Theres also a master ALL START/STOP footswitch onboard. Additionally, three independent faders provide immediate control of each tracks output volume. And if thats not enough control under your hands and feet, you can also connect external Expression pedals and footswitches (sold separately).

Onboard FX
Process your tracks and external-input signals with the RC-300s expressive onboard effects, including Transpose, Flanger, Phaser, Modulator, vocal effects, and more. A dedicated LOOP FX footswitch is provided for instant activation of the onboard effects. Control the effects parameters in real time with the Expression pedal for hands-free creativity onstage. You can apply the effects to any single track as well as to the entire mix, expanding your creativity and musical expression.

Rhythm Guide and Preloaded Audio
To keep your loops tight and in time, you can play along with one of the cool rhythm patterns in the RC-300s onboard library as you record; the Loop Quantize feature helps you having your recordings looped in time. Dozens of rhythm types are onboard, including rock, pop, shuffle, Latin, and more. A dedicated knob lets you adjust the volume of the rhythm, and you can set the tempo incrementally or via tap tempo. You can also specify the time signature. When you save a phrase, the rhythm type and time signature will also be saved. To get you up and running right away, the RC-300 comes preloaded with audio backing tracks (including bass tracks, piano tracks, etc.) for instant play-along performance and fun.

USB Connectivity
Connect the RC-300 to your computer via a standard USB cable, and back up your phrases externally for safekeeping. You can import and export WAV files between your computer and the RC-300; 16-bit/44.1kHz WAV files of up to 1.7GB in size can be imported.

AUX Input
In addition to recording your instrument performances and turning them into playable loops, you can record other external stereo audio sources via the AUX IN. Sounds from a digital-audio player or other device connected to the AUX input can easily be recorded and added to your loop performance.

I’ve been live looping for almost 10 years and am currently on my second Boss RC-300. I mistakenly sold my first one to buy a Headrush but that product isn’t even close to the Boss so I bought a new one. I’ve also used loopers such as the Ditto, Boomerang and lower level Boss units. Many of the new loopers offer so many options now, it makes than nearly impossible to use live as you have to needlessly tap dance your way around menus. The Boss is built like a tank and built to last. 3 loop channels make it easy to go between to overdue or turn off and on mid song. It is incredibly flexible being able to loop in serial or sync mode. The effects suck but that’s why they make effects pedals. Keep your effects separate from your looping and you will get the most flexibility. I built a custom pedalboard that houses my RC-300, HX Stomp, Morningstar MC6, Boss OC-3 and Panic Button which controls my looping path for my microphone. I have everything I need in 1 simple package. Don’t waste your time on the toys, The RC-300 is still the best looper money can buy.

I've been using my RC-300 in my live act for going on 3 years. It has never let me down. The features are highly programmable and once you set up you're preferences, you're good to go. My usual layout is guitar on track1, vocal loops to track 2 and percussion on 3. It works like a charm. Most songs, I loop live but admittedly, there are a handful of songs that I've pre-recorded the first track to reduce the time to build the loop. All the est is live. I've learned a lot by going to YouTube to pick up on programming features I never knew were possible. I have a few saved templates that cover serial and sync?d loops. At least once a month, I'll check out any new loopers to see if I can get a smaller footprint but in the end, the loss of critical features keeps me with the RC-300. The only way I could see it being improved for my personal use would be to get rid of the effects and foot pedal leaving 3 clean tracks and no fluff. This looper has been the Holy Grail since it was released and continues to this day. The Boomerang 3 has some potential but can't surpass the individual start/stop switches for each channel. I tried one for a few weeks and simply found the RC-300 to work better with th way as approach live looping.

This is the perfect tool for creativity. It has many features and settings to play with but I found it very easy to just plug it in and start playing right away. It has a huge selection of choices in it's rhythm section for any time signature you need, which was a surprise to me. I highly recommend this over any loop station and if you are a composer or performer it is a great addition to your tools. I must also give a hand to Long and McQuades who's staff were great to deal with. They are my 'go to' store for all things music now.

I just got the very first BOSS RC-300 that came into Long & McQuade in Cambridge and I am very pleased with it. I have been looping since the first Boomerang Phrase Sampler was released several years ago. After a few years, I upgraded to a Digitech JamMan and I really liked being able to save my loops, but I really wanted a looper that would allow you to work with more than one track at a time. The Boss RC-50 had that capability, but it did not have nearly enough memory to work for me. Finally, the new Boss RC-300 was announced and it seemed to have everything I needed and more. I perform live with a looper, so I need one that is very reliable, has lots of memory and can be operated fully hands free. I like to have several pre-recorded loops stored on my looper for solo work but I also create loops in real time on the fly when performing live. The RC-300 has plenty of memory - three hours in 99 “phases” with three independent “tracks” in each phrase. I love being able to name my phrases, so I don’t have to carry around a list to refer to onstage. Also, it can be operated very effectively hands free, so it is great for live performance. I must warn you that it is very complicated compared to other more basic loopers, because it has so many features and options. You will have to spend quite a bit of time learning how to set it up and how to use all the features effectively. Furthermore, you will likely have to adjust a number of settings to make it suitable for your particular needs, so be prepared to spend quite a bit of time experimenting and studying the manual. If you are willing to put the time in, you will likely find all of the features you are looking for in the RC-300. I didn’t like some of the factory settings, so I changed several things to suit my needs. For example, I changed the play mode for most of my phrases to “single track” (rather than multi-track) and turned off the “loop sync” on the three tracks within the phrase. This way, I can record and playback any one of the three tracks independently which allows me to use one for an intro, another for the song and a third for an ending or a vamp. I can move from track to track easily (hands free) allowing lots of variety in my performance. Another big plus with the RC-300 is the onboard expression pedal. From the factory, this pedal is assigned to control the built-in effects, but I re-assigned it to control the playback volume of my phrases. I don’t use effects that much, but being able to control the volume of my loops is very useful for live performance. There are lots more features such as stereo panning, a phantom powered mic input, etc. You can even direct some tracks to different outputs if you want to separate things, such as having a bass part coming out of a different amp. Overall, this is one serious looper. I love it! Pros: Lots of memory, handsfree operation, tons of features and options, built like a tank. Cons: Quite complicated, some of the factory presets seem odd, it's a little on the large size, expensive. Overall impression – Probably the best looper on the market if you don’t mind the complexity.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
