The Original Desktop Amp

THR-II series amps offer more sounds, more power and more wireless features than ever before. Wireless connectivity makes THR-II amps perfect for at-home practicing,

Guitarists are familiar with the tube amp stacks that sound amazing when turned up loud on a big stage, and with combo amps that are a perfect fit for smaller venues and rehearsal. THR ignored the convention that a practice amp should simply be a smaller version of a larger amp, creating a new "third amp" category designed around what players need when playing at home.

Fully-Wireless Experience
All THR-II models feature Bluetooth connectivity for audio playback, the "THR Remote" mobile editor app, and third-party footswitch support.

THR Remote
The THR Remote editor lets THR-II players sculpt their guitar tones wirelessly, with additional parameters for sculpting your unique sound. THR-II amplifiers have simple one-knob controls for the modulation, echo, and reverb effects. With THR Remote, players can access multiple parameters per effect for fine tuning, and access a compressor and noise gate. With THR Remote, you can easily assign a compatible third-party Bluetooth footswitch (sold separately) for control that is both hands-free and cable-free. Change the EQ for music playback, adjust the line out and USB out levels, check the battery charge level, and more.

Features
• Realistic tube-amp tones and feel plus essential effects
• 15 guitar amp models, 3 bass amp models, 3 mic models for acoustic-electrics, and flat voicings for everything else
• Bluetooth® support for audio playback and editing via THR Remote
• Hi-Fi audio playback with Extended Stereo Technology
• Plug-and-Play USB connectivity for recording and playback
• THR Remote editor/librarian app for desktop and mobile devices
• Also available with a wireless receiver and internal battery

It sounds great without needing to be loud enough the neighbours complain, and has just about every sound you'd need. Great build quality, easy to use. It also looks really great, but the important thing is that it delivers on it's promises without feeling like a compromise. Even if you already have a carefully curated rig, it's worth a look.

Bought this amp after seeing all the reviews online and was pretty satisfied when I tried in store. It has a lot of volume for a 10-watt amp. Without the Yamaha app, this amp is nice, but with the amp, it becomes even better. For my need, it's a great little amp.

A year later. A bit about me, male 60ish, relearning to play again from a childhood tortured acoustic experience. So more or less a new player and little experience. I'm a blues, jazz, rock guy. My needs were a good sounding practice amp. I've had a small Roland, a Joyo Bantamp. and a Boss GT1. This amp is great for low volume, in a small room it really sounds much bigger. It doesn't push the air like the others and is therefore easier on my ageing ears and everyone else's. I have a frankenstrat with Lance Sensors and a Revstar with Filtertrons. I think the amp sounds great with or without headphones. The top controls are simple and the app is very well laid out. With a bit of fiddling I have most of the tones I need, the plate reverb sounds great and the breakup is fine. Jamming along with Bluetooth is a joy, the stereo and full range speakers work seamlessly with the guitar input. At times it's hard to tell if its the tune playing or me, a good feeling I must say. The only thing I would have liked it to have some outputs, but I get by using the phones jack and midi. With midi was a bit frustrating at first but I believe has been updated with a better volume out, it works fine now. If I use the Bass amp setting the Boss GT1 is ok but not great with the other settings it's worse. I can't comment on other peddles. I've sold all the other amps and staying with the THR. Looks great, sounds great and a small footprint. it is expensive but absolutely worth it. Highly recommended.

I have used it for 1 month and it’s perfect for my needs. I live in a house but I have to watch sound levels because of my wife and young kid. The amp is really small and stylish so it looks great on my work desk. I use it for both electric and electric-acoustic guitars. The Bluetooth is convenient, I use my iPad to control the amp which is very convenient and you can play backing tracks or just play music via Bluetooth on it. It’s my first desk amp so I can’t compare it to anything else but I can just say it sounds great to my ears and the sound is loud enough (I never go past 12). There are so many sounds available (especially when changing cabs using your tablet or phone) that I can always find a sound I like... I don’t think I will ever need to use the software to tweak the sound even more but it’s possible. I went for the base model as it never leaves my desk and there’s no point in having wireless for me (I just play at home). Bit pricey but worth it, especially as it’s now my only amp.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
