There are so many options for chorus pedals - too many, maybe. For king of make music, a wild and crazy guy like me, I play Gibsos and Fenderes lot times, since 1965. For get that dreamy sound like windchime through my childhood village, MXR 234 Chorus is the one! My baby time and my adult time meet on this classic sound. Much love.

Even though its meant for guitar, chorus sounds great on bass. The eq cut controls aren't tuned for bass but help to reduce lows in the wet effect. Very clean and organic too.

I have owned and played many chorus pedals over the years all good, all great and served their purpose. 12 years ago I finally settled on and stuck with the 1 knob MXR micro chorus pedal and I loved it! For its simplicity and versatility. Well lately I found myself craving a little more from my chorus pedal so I traded in the micro chorus to upgrade to the analog chorus and I am so glad I did. Having the depth knob I now use my chorus way more then I used to. And I didn’t think having a high/low cut knobs would serve me in any way but they open up a world of tones. All the knobs adjust everything perfectly there are no useless features on this pedal for EQ or modulation. I hate it when you have a pedal and there is one knob that you can turn but don’t turn it too much or it colours your tone or makes useless noise. MXR always know what they are doing I highly recommend this pedal to anyone looking for a chorus pedal and check out the MXR micro chorus as well.

Considering the form factor and the options available, this is a good value pedal. It can create a wide variety of chorus tones, but stays on the more subtle side. It lacks the depth that a Boss CE-2 (or clone thereof) would have, and its not quite as metallic and flange-like as an Electro-Harmonix Small Clone can get. It lays somewhere in the middle. A great option for someone who prefers more subtle chorus tones. Pros: - Level, High, and Low filter controls allow for fine tuning to work better with other pedals like drives or modulated delays. - stereo output Cons: - Hardwire bypass that can cause a slight but noticeable rounding of high frequencies, even when not activated. - can be fairly noisy when placed before an overdrive, even with isolated power .

You're looking for that Paradise city intro sound, that's the pedal you need, run your Les Paul half a step down through it right into a Marshall amp and instantly get that sound that everybody will recognize.

I bought the Zakk Wylde version called the Black Label Chorus before they discontinued it. The new chorus is the same with the same knobs exactly. I had Boss chorus before, the sparkly blue CE3 from the 80s, the Super Chorus from the 90s. I tried the Chorus Ensemble and I found it rather flat and boring. Then I tried this and its surprisingly warm and dynamic. The knobs are sensitive thus allowing a wider range of settings. You can get thick and deep by increasing the depth, level and the Lo knobs even more than any Boss or chimey with the Hi knob cranked. It can be suble by having the rate off and the level set low or keep all the knobs around 12 oclock and increase the speed to get a vibrato like sound.

As others have said, this thing is amazing. From subtle to experimental, with or without dirt. Full, rich, sounds. Very tweakable. If you're looking for a chorus pedal, you'll be happy with this.

If you're looking to thicken up your chords and add some sparkle to your clean picking, this is the pedal for you! You simply cannot recreate digitally IMO, the sound this analogue chorus produces. Playing clean you get a nice sparkle that really accentuates picking? through your chords and lets them ring out. When playing with an overdriven signal it really fattens up your chords and adds some beautiful harmonics to lead playing. Can't say enough about this pedal! I originally ordered the Black Label model but was told it would be months before Dunlop could supply it. After researching it I discovered the M234 is virtually the same pedal without? the cool cosmetic work. If you want chorus i highly recommend the M234!

I've spent a fortune on chorus pedals, just buy this one. It sounds awesome. The eq alone is worth it. You can go 80's to 00's with this easily. Best value out there if you ask me

Had my heart set on this pedal for a while... made a trip out to L&M to pick it up (website said it was in stock) and when I got there it wasn't. Was a lil disappointed, but one of the the clerks convinced me into taking home the Boss CE-5 to try out. While it was a nice sounding pedal it lacked character and was a lil too subtle for my taste. Took it back a couple weeks later and exchanged for he MXR once it was in stock... and the CE-5, IMO, isn't in the same league as the MXR. The MXR is so rich and full sounding in comparison. The rate on the MXR is faster than the CE-5 as well and it has more depth, which can be backed off for more subtle modulation. No boost or drop in volume when engaged, the Boss had a slight drop in volume. Build quality is excellent across the board, I'm very happy with it.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
