and we want to ensure that every instrument we sell comes exactly how the manufacturer intended
it to be. That is why Long & McQuade performs a quality control check for every stringed, brass,
and woodwind instrument over $99 ordered online at Long-McQuade.com.
Our team of experienced staff will unbox your instrument and perform a detailed
inspection to ensure it leaves our warehouse looking and playing great with our QC card signed
and dated for your peace of mind.
We work hard to source the best instruments from around the world from the finest brands.
It is important to us that you are completely satisfied with your new instrument purchase from
day one onwards.
Unlike our free set-up, which is
included within the first year of purchase, this process is done to have the instrument set to the
factory specs rather than to each player's feel or preferences.
We look after the following:
Inspect finish and hardware.
Check electronics to make sure everything is in working order. Check batteries on active pickups.
Inspect strings.
Inspect frets and fretboard.
Check truss rod. Adjust for bow and relief.
Tune instrument to manufacturer's specified tuning.
Check/set action height.
Stretch strings and re-tune instrument and ensure machine heads are working well.

Okay, now I do have first guitar bias, but this was the first electric guitar I have purchased (not gifted to me).
I went with this Godin Session HT after consulting some articles and videos. I wanted a guitar that was A: slim, smallish body and B: Canadian, because pride in my home :')
This was listed as being comparable to a Fender tele, which did pique my interest.
Anyways, I was not disappointed, and still am not disappointed. In fact, what's the complete opposite of disappointed? Impressed? Amazed?
I purchased this a year and a half ago and play daily. It is addictive to play, it sounds like butter on the ears, I have friends who own "better" and more guitars than me, who pick this up and are impressed with the quality.
Not to mention the price, I had a budget and walked out with some extra accessories that I needed (amp, bag, picks, cords... you name it) and it came out to well under the price of a Gibson SG.
Pumped this one's tires up enough, I highly recommend giving it a try on your next visit in the shop. We all have hidden gems across Canada and its culture - why don't you add another one to the list?

The feeling of this guitar is mindblowing, Godin never disappoints when it comes to quality of built and playability. Unfortunately mine got here in a Jackson box with marks already on the pick-guard despite buying it « new » at full price, I explained the situation to long and mcquade and asked if I could get a new pick-guard to replace the damaged one but they turned me down… They told me to bring the guitar back for a full refund but I live 350km from the closest store. So yeah, you won’t regret buying this guitar but I would recommend buying it from another company if you like receiving your instruments in perfect condition.

So, the wife says it's OK I get another guitar this year. I have a Gibson LP Classic Custom, and since I've moved to Canada, I've picked up a Godin Stadium HT and Summit Classic HT. So, naturally I need a Strat type guitar. So I go to my local L&M. They have a Fender Pro II and a Godin Session HT. I play the Fender, I play the Godin. I play the Fender again, once more the Godin. I say, do I pay another $1500 just for the Fender name? I play the Godin just as well as I play the Fender, and that humbucker at the neck just kind of grabbed me. Anyway, I bought the Godin and am loving it. Plays great, sounds great, very versatile and fun.

Just picked up a new Session HT matt black. I also have an older Session Custom tobacco burst which is Great, will never part with that. I had just sold my Red Session Tremolo model and regretted that immediately, With 3000$ Fender strats at my disposal, the Godin Session is what I reach for first.

This guitar is in its own league and should never be compared to a strat players series or a silver sky se as they are worlds apart in quality/fit/finish and hardware choice..The two fore mentioned guitars are Toys R Us toys compared to the Godin not to mention the feel of the neck and body which I agree is subjective. I bought and returned three players series strats and three silver sky SE guitars dues to no two of the same model even close to being built the same as the previous and all having playability issues and ill fitting components. The Godin is absolutely perfect in every way and the build quality truly makes the others feel and look like toys, plus you get stunning good looks. One just needs to look to the pickup switch and tone/volume knobs as well as the fit of the pick guard to see the quality difference so please folks, don`t ever compare Silver Sky SE and/or Strat Players series to this guitar because they truly do not not belong in the ring with this guitar...p.s, being a hard tail, the sustain is insane and my G string is still ringing clear from when I put the guitar down last night, not that g string....go buy that Session HT before everyone realizes that these guitars are worth twice their asking price..

Okay so before I start, I just want to point out that I've owned 4 USA Fender Stratocasters and 2 MIM strats in the past. So I have plenty to compare this to. And let me just say, this guitar is better than any of those. At least the ones that I owned.
And secondly, let me say...I don't really think of it as a strat copy. I know a lot of people naturally compare it to one because of the HSS configuration, the double cutaway, and the scale length. It seems like an obvious comparison. However, the ceramic pickups, the fretboard radius, the neck carve, the weight, the hard tail bridge, the matt finish, to me they all make this guitar feel very much like its own thing. Kind of like how PRS guitars were certainly inspired by Gibson but are now very much their own thing. To me this guitar is beautiful, extremely light weight (but not cheap feeling AT ALL), sounds great and plays better than any Fender I've owned. I'm in love with the neck. IN LOVE with the neck.
A third thing I'll say is that I've read some people say that the pickups are "really good but not great", and to me I think that depends on if you're expecting to get Fender Strat tones or not. These ceramic pickups are built almost more like a small P90 than a classic single coil strat pickup. So to me, they're not going to sound exactly like one, because they're not supposed to. Think about G&L with their own pickup design. G&L isn't trying to sound like Fender, and neither is Godin.
This guitar needs to be judged completely on its own merits and not against a strat. If you want a Stratocaster, get a Stratocaster. But if you want an amazingly solid, super light, great sounding guitar that plays beautifully and has a fast neck? This is the one you want. It isn't just good, it's really really great. I can't say enough about it. I honestly prefer this guitar over any USA made Fender or Gibson I've ever owned...and I've owned a bunch.

I bought the bourbon burst. I am really surprised how good the pickups sound. The pickups are not wound really hot. Which is nice (in my opinion). You can get a very nice tone through an overdrive pedal going into a tube amp when you switch to the humbucker. Very nice strat like sounds when you split the coils in the humbucker or play through the middle or neck pickups. The guitar is a bargain at this price honestly. No need to upgrade anything.

I play a lot of different styles, so finding that guitar I can rock out on, as well as play smooth mellow tones, was a big order for one guitar to fill .. the HSS configuration does the trick nicely - the humbucker at the bridge knows how to scream - the single coils give the clarity - the ability to balance all three give a huge array of otions for almost any tone you seek ..
mostly though - I LOVE THE FEEL. -- i can get lost for HOURS playing this thing -- it is so easy to relax into, and let my ears and my finger tips just be at absolute play, with zero effort ..
well done Godin, well done.

This guitar feels amazing compared to my old Squire Strat that I have played on for years. Build quality is excellent. There is no fret sprout, blemishes or scratches. This thing holds tune really well and has great sustain thanks to the hardtail bridge, but that also means that there is no tremelo system so if you are into that you're not gonna like this guitar. The pickups sound really good and although 60hz buzz is audible it is not any worse than other single-coil guitars, The tuners are not locking which is a feature I wanted, but I can easily instal some aftermarket ones later on. The only issue I'm having is some fret buzz on the low E string, but this might be a one-off problem and nothing some sandpaper can't fix.

I bought this guitar on the recommendation of L&Q online sales staff. I wasn't sure I wanted to stick with guitar so I didn't want to make a huge upfront investment, but at the same time I didn't want to be discouraged from having to practise on a piece of trash and have to upgrade in less than a year. I'm really glad the salesperson recommended this guitar. It's gorgeous, reliable, and build quality is amazing. I'm very fortunate that I get to learn to play on this instrument!

Tried every Squire strat up the line. All had pretty good feel, but the tuning stability was horrific on all of them. The Godin Session HT is simple and fantastic. Feels and sounds like a guitar worth double the price. Not an exaggeration; anyone looking for a sub $700 guitar should be trying this one.

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty
A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.
Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.
How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.
Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.
Purchasing additional years of coverage
Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.
If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:
NEW products: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
USED products: 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. 4% for each additional year.
GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
