Here is a piece that is completely original yet captures the essence of Hebraic music with its wonderful use of the minor key. Appropriate anytime of year, it would even be an excellent selection for Chanukah at your winter concert. The piece, which is in two parts, begins with a beautiful slow ballad. That will suddenly turn into an upbeat second section that is reminiscent of exciting Klezmer music. The piece has an easy cadenza in it for solo clarinet and solo trumpet, and then ends in whirlwind with the full ensemble playing a fun Hebraic style rapid ending. This is a sure winner with audiences and performers alike!
