Elixir® Strings Acoustic 80/20 Bronze with NANOWEB® Coating deliver a bright, lively tone together with extended tone life that players have come to expect from Elixir Strings. The #1 acoustic guitar string, Elixir Strings provide consistent performance, smooth feel and reduce finger squeak. With less hassle and expense of frequent string changes, you enjoy more time making music.
Elixir Strings is the only brand to coat the entire string, protecting not only the outer string surface, but also the gaps between the windings. Elixir Strings retain their tone longer than any other string, uncoated or coated.• The Anti-Rust Plated Plain Steel Strings also resists tone-deadening corrosion, ensuring longer life for the entire set.

I tried these strings because of all the hype that they're long lasting. What I discovered is: 1) The coating actually dampens the strings resulting in an awful tone. 2) The coating makes the strings stiff as a board. They lack that wonderful flex that you get with regular strings. 3) The coating makes the strings feel very smooth, which makes them hard to grip. I ended up pressing down harder in order to get a better grip, resulting in hand fatigue. 4) After some time the coating starts to flake off. 5) They're very expensive. In summary - sure, they last longer, but what you get are longer lasting strings with an awful tone and awful feel and grip. Do yourself a favour and continue using your favourite non-coated strings. They're worth it.

These strings are amazing. They feel great, they sound great and they make my guitar sound like a million bucks! Yeah they are a little costly but after messing around with Ernie Ball acoustic strings (which suck) these are wicked good. They are loud too, compared to the Ernie Ball strings which go flat and dead after an hour of playing. Will definitely buy these again!

I have used these strings twice in the last few years. I play once per week with some friends and then at times on my own. I have had more expensive different brand name strings last short periods. These ones however, lasted a long time and kept their sound crisp and smooth.

I have tried a number of extended life strings (from both Elixir and Martin) and have found these to be the best so far. They are bright and add a nice low end growl to my Martin OMGPA4R.

Use them on my J-200 M and the sound is amazing. Crisp highs and solid lows. I do a lot of strumming and throw in some picking and these string cover both.
