For double chorus unaccompanied. This three-stanza text centres on a person reflecting on a lost love from late in life, and is set to three textures: a soft chant, a gentle melody, and rich, sustained chords. In the final verse, all of voices come together to bring an extra degree of tenderness to the intimate text. The work was first performed in 2009 by Apeiron, a vocal ensemble based in Rochester, New York.
