Unlimited possibilities. Connects to the internet via an app, and you can literally download presets for genres, or even specific songs. I am not a great guitar player. I like to call myself a campfire guitarist. And this amp is for people like me. Sounds decent in my bedroom, loud enough, but sound ok quietly. This is a great amp, and I have the wireless adapter which works flawlessly as well.

Let me just start by saying that I love Line6 products. I used to own a Pod bean (legendary), and it sounded great. I own a Helix and that sounds absolutely phenomenal. I was looking for a simple modelling amp to use at home for practice (all in one package) and this won for me on paper because apparently Fender mustangs are only good for fender tones, and boss katana doesn’t seem to have a tuner built in and I’m not sure you can save presets. Price wise this is well competitive with others however if you decide to get the FBV 3 pedal then the price will be lot more than the competition so factor that in if you decide you need the fancy pedal. I loved the simplicity of this model, and all the features I could use. It’s also very light to carry around as opposed to my 4x12 cabinet and helix rack combo. So light in fact if you put it on a smooth surface it may slide when you press a button too hard. However, I was utterly dumbfounded how terribly this amp sounds (they only had a model in a box in store so I wasn’t able to try one). I tried all the different settings like classic speaker mode, FRFR tweaking settings etc but it just sounds fizzy, thin and absolutely broken. I feel like it’s very loud for a bedroom amp and the sound experience doesn’t get any better with volume unlike my helix for example. It just sounds like a trash can. It’s so bad that I actually thought it might be broken and decided to open it to see if something is disconnected inside or my speaker is fried even though it’s new in box (don’t do this if you don’t know what you are doing - it’s dangerous). I did NOT expect this from Line6. This sounds worse to me than those little collectable mini amps for about $60. How can an amp with a 10” speaker sound this bad...? I’ve had combo amps with an 8” speaker that were far better sounding than this. I wasn’t expecting Helix and 4x12 cab levels of sound fidelity, but this is unbelievable and unacceptable. My cellphone sounds better than this...! I think the underlying sound effects processing is ok but the sound experience from the cab and speaker and horrible. Playing the amp with the back panel removed (this is difficult because the USB and power transformers and a printed circuit board (PCB) are all attached to it) makes the sound a bit more 3 dimensional and in my opinion it sounds better open back but sadly this isn’t the original factory setup. I am tempted to exchange the speakers inside for something better and see if it becomes acceptable or not especially an 8ohm speaker so maybe it sounds a bit less loud. The volume knob is very good though it’s very linear not like some older amps I had where there’s absolutely no volume at low setting and then a little higher it explodes in volume where it’s insanely loud.

As the other reviewer said, Spiders get a lot of hate but this one here is more than what I need for a practice amp. For an experienced user It is simple enough to use but it has a lot of parameters. I think that might be the reason why people hate it. I am actually very pleased since I can dial almost any sound that I am looking for. I just wish the optional foot switch (FBV Express MKII) was sold at a much cheaper price. Other than that, I would recommend this one. 60W is decent enough for a basement practice session.

Spiders get a lot of hate but from my understanding with the mk2 it solved some if not most of the concerns that people had with previous models. I find it a lot more user friendly than my peavey vypyr amp, better distortion & with more features. It also feels like it's built like a tank & the preset editor is straight forward. All it needs is a mic input and drum loops (I've been spoiled by my busking vox amp), I cannot fathom anything else it'd need without making it extremely expensive. I would seriously consider skipping the starter kits and instead get an amp like this or a vox busking amp to last people until they can get or need a tube amplifier. Given the pandemic as well this is a good option. Turn this on, stream live or jam with some buddies over discord.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
