The first is a driving, pulsating theme with accents in the percussion and brass, the second a mysterious force with an exotic sound. These two sources eventually collide in the percussion break and dissipate into a smooth melodic section. Finally, this newly formed source of energy reappears with a vengeance with characteristics of both sources as the piece comes to an exciting conclusion.
