Yi Meng Shan Ge, originally called Little Tune of Yi Meng Shan, came from Yi Meng Shan district, the largest and most populated district in the Shandong Province. In 1940, two young musicians working in the anti-Japanese war efforts took the folk tune Twelve-Month Ditty Little Tune of Yi Meng Shan. Over time, many people have set different texts to this tune. In 1998, Zhang Yi-Da was commissioned by Professor Wu Ling Fen to arrange this Chinese traditional song for choir. It praises the beautiful scenery and happy life of the Yi Meng Shan people.
