The introduction of the new Grover Locking Rotomatics gives you the ease of use provided by a standard tuner and the positive locking of our internal cam post. Simply insert the string through the string hole, pull to tension by hand and begin tuning. As you start to tune, only the locking cam in the string post turns. Once the string is locked, the string post begins to turn allowing you to bring the string to pitch. In less than one revolution of the string post, you will be in tune, to stay in tune.
Gear ratio is 18 to 1.

I put a Stetsbar Pro II tremolo on a Les Paul (similar range to a Floyd Rose with no routing) and knew right away I\'d be facing tuning issues ... \'cuz that\'s what they do, right? First impulse was a locking nut, but the idea of drilling holes in an LP\'s already famous weak neck joint made me sick.
Mark @ L&M New Minas told me about these, I installed them myself easily in the holes that were already there for the stock tuners, and ... THEY WORK! Real simple to load new strings, and once they\'re broken in, you can go to \"dive bomb\" heaven and they won\'t go out of tune. If you put a FR on a guitar, these are a MUST.

I installed a Floyd Rose trem on my Les Paul Custom last year, and immediately had tuning issues with the standard Grover tuners that came on the guitar. Not wanting to weaken the neck joint with a locking nut, I decided on locking tuners. There are a number of options, but after some research, I felt the Grover 106's would be best. Turns out they're amazing! So simple to install (no drilling), and so easy to use. There's no thumb-wheel to fuss with, and the internal cam system locks the strings in tune, with about a 2/3 wind of the string on the post ... awesome. IMHO, this is the best way to ensure tuning stability, if you're installing a tremolo system on your guitar.
