I just picked up my new Gibson Les Paul Standard 60s Unburst and man, I’m over the frickin moon happy!
This axe is perfect in every way. The top is amazing. The AA flame dances as the light hits and it changes back and forth from different angles. Set up is spot on as you would expect from the folks at Gibson. This is my second new purchase this month (a Gibson ES-335 Dot 60s Cherry) and Noric at L&M was incredibly helpful in making my dream guitars a reality.
I play Gibson because like KISS,
I deserve the best.

So I thought I had my dream Les Paul (2012 Gibson Les Paul Traditional Satin Gold Top) until I gigged with this thing in Niagara Falls earlier this month. I played the Unburst finish.
All I can say is, "Wow!"
The finish...simply exquisite, not too flamey and not too dull.
The pick ups...sooooooooo sooooooo sooooooo much mojo!
The weight...nearly 10 lbs of balanced perfection...zero weight relief...Thanks Gibson for listening!
The neck profile...slim...not like me, but sooooo easy to play.
Bottom line, this Les Paul is the best I've ever played. It's my favourite Gibson.

Saw one that was a demo/return at my local L&M with a QUILTED TOP! AA is the MINIMUM top these things have. I'd rate the top on mine as a 4A. Shop around. There are some stunners out there! (I've never found R's with quilted tops before; Birdseye yes, never quilted). And it was too good to pass-up! (mine was $900 below list. Black Friday ftw). I swapped the reflector knobs for antique amber belltops which just looks sick on the BB finish. Now i have a stunner which i'm not hesitant to take out of the house for performance. Neck is amazing (59/60s hybrid feel) once set up. I can really grind my bends and it comes right back in tune. (I recommend to change the strings to Gibson Vintage Re-issue true nickel since it has Burstbuckers. Orange-drop Caps tend to have a more punchie feel than PIO. The true nickel will reign in the extra Henries (v say Classic 57/57+)). The bridge is a hybrid (narrow ABR1 style with Nashville bushings! so no keyholing directly into the maple top!) Set the pups low. They can become brittle-sounding if too high. Get the gain from your amp with minimal string grab and this Lester becomes VERY articulate! It comes with the newer waffle-latch case which is a huge improvement from recent years. It even has a void for the strap button at the bottom (no more spider webs!). I only wish they hadn't pre-installed the pickguard (or at lease put felt under the screw so it didn't risk marring the top). Since mine was used, maybe they do come that way from factory? IMO this LPS is easily the best convergence of value and $$ (best bang for the buck). Is it as good as a custom shop. LOL keep dreaming. Is it close? It's easily one of the best standards ever. And you can have two for the price of an R8 or R9 CS.

Purchased this guitar a couple of years ago and it has been amazing so far. The finish is phenomenal and it plays better than most LPs I have tried (more of a Fender player so my experience is more limited than some players). Luckily it contains no PCB in the wiring and it seems to be a return to the wired designs of the past. Weighs what a classic, unchambered LP should and I wouldn't have it any other way. Build quality on these is miles beyond what I would have expected, considering the darker days of Gibson QC was not that long ago. Went with the 60's instead of 50's as I prefer the slim profile of the neck. The only reason I rated the features 4 is that the year I bought one they were putting the 61R and 61T pickups in, which I found to sound muddy and quite frankly terrible in almost all situations. I see now they have now substituted those for the Burstbuckers, which is a fantastic replacement. I quickly sold the stock pickups 61R/T and replaced them with Seymour Duncan's Seth Lover pickups. With the pickup switch this thing is an absolute machine!

Have played off and on for 40 years, Have an Epi Les paul Studio and an Ilbanez Super Strat. But have always wanted the real deal, the Gibson Les Paul. Finally pulled the trigger a year ago and got my dream guitar. Les Paul Standard 60's in Ice Tea burst. Absolutely love this guitar. Great quality, pickups are great, Tone and sustain is awesome. The feel of this guitar is perfect when I play it. The weight of the guitar took getting used to, She's a pretty heavy chunk of wood. It might have taken a few decades to finally buy one, but it was well worth the wait.

I’ve mostly been a fender guy, playing a tele, strat & jazzmaster (Am standards & Am pro’s). I absolutely love the classics. The 60’s standard Les Paul was the one I knew I needed to round out the collection. 1-piece solid mahogany body, genuine 2-piece flamed maple top. Nitrocellulose finish. It’s a real Les Paul & real heavy. But with that weight you get an absolute TON of sustain & resonance. Just picking it up and giving it a once over you’ll feel the quality of the build and the care that went into it. The new pickups are super impressive. Mostly I stick to the neck for the crunchy stuff, and I’ll use the neck or the middle position for cleans. It can get real bright & jangly if you want it to, or you can get it real thick and muddy. Anything you want, you can get it all with this one. I’ve had it for over a year now & play it through a silverface vibrolux reverb. It’s much louder and breaks up my amp earlier than the fenders. So there’s an adjustment. Can’t say enough great things about it. But you’re gonna pay. She’s pricey. Completely worth it.

I picked this up and started playing it. I was blown away by the build, quality and the neck. The slim taper neck played amazing! Whoever built this specific guitar that I bought should get a raise lol. I play Hard Rock and Metal. This thing totally accomplishes everything I wanted in a guitar. I know the price is expensive, but If you hold the Les Paul in your hands and a guitar that's $1000-$2500 after. You will completely notice the difference in quality. The Les Paul blows it away. Its my first ever Gibson and I cant be more happy to own one.

I just got back from my 3 week rotation at work, got off the chopper and was at long&mcquade a few minutes after, to pick up my Standard 60s. As you would expect, I am thoroughly pleased with this guitar. Its workmanship is impeccable from headstock to the end strap button. Craig, and all the staff at the st john's long&mcquade were a pleasure to deal with as always.

I placed my order on April 3rd, 2022, and last week (August 3, 2022) it finally arrived! It was well worth the wait let me tell you! I wasn't really sure about buying this guitar unseen but the quality and finish far exceeded my expectation upon arrival and initial inspection. The one I received had amazing flame pattern closer to AAA flamed maple top (looks just like the one in the picture). The fret work is clean and very well polished. Very pleased with the fretboard finish and inlay detail. In every way Gibson has returned to their roots and this guitar sounds amazing with the traditional orange drop capacitors...sounds like the classic Rolling Stones Beast of Burden. I am so happy I waited 5 months...and i'll tell you what-I'd have waited 12 more months... it's that amazing-really! A big thank you extended to the team at North Bay Long and Mcquade location and to Steve Long, VP of Long and Mcquade, who personally responded to my email wondering when they might expect to receive the guitar from Gibson, and also a huge thank you to those in Nashville for producing these beautiful guitars. Mine was made on May 24, 2022 and the Bourbon Burst finish with the maple top flames are amazing! Looks just like the one pictured!

I been playing off and on for 35 years plus. I've never owned a Gibson Les Paul, always wanted one but never owned an actual Gibson. I own American Start and Tele, a 1980 BC Rich, and an Epiphone Les Paul Traditional Pro. All my gear is great gear, and felt im happy with what i have, but getting this Gibson 60's was an awakening!! Yes the Epi got me by and i was content(im not really a tone chaser either), but this Gibson is a whole new playing experience. Pickups are clear with fantastic range, neck is soooo comfortable, the guitars weight is well balanced, the finish is stunning(i have the Ice Tea) and so on. If you are able to one day have the ability to splurge or treat yourself after years of saving, or you need a great player for recording etc, you definitely will not be disappointed in owning this instrument.

I've been playing guitar for many years and my first electric was an Epiphone LP Standard. I could never justify forking out for a Gibson, but tried one of the 60s LPs in Unburst in store one day and the decision was made for me. Fortunately there was a 0% financing promotion which made it more affordable so I pulled the trigger. I can confidently say that is worth every single penny and wish I had gotten one many years ago, I had no idea what I was missing. I like the slimmer neck on the 60s LPs, it's very very easy to play across the frets. The weight is good but not so heavy it hurts your neck/back. The pickups are crisp and clear and the sustain is fantastic, it really sings. I used to do a lot of recording with my American Fender Tele (my previously most expensive guitar) but since I got the LP it's all I want to play and record with. I can't play my Epiphone at all, it just sounds like garbage in comparison but I can't get rid of it since it was my first. Ultimately, if you're considering getting a Gibson it is absolutely worth the money. My playing has improved with it and my solos sound a lot richer, regardless of the speed of the song.

Again made the mistake of going to Long & McQuade and trying out their row's of electric guitars on display at the Oshawa store. As usual most I played I was not impressed but then I picked up "the one". She spoke to me the instant we met and it was love at first sight (and play) !
What really struck me is the high quality of the engineering no doubt computer assisted as the fingerboard just feels right solid and easy to play. The fret board has the right space to play easily at the high E string 14th fret (for when you need to play the start of the 1st solo of Comfortably Numb) and as well at the bottom of the frets like for playing open E dropped D growling chords. The feel of the guitar is nice, the quality is everywhere, solid, beautiful AA Flame Maple - this guitar should be 10K because it's the same quality as the high end custom shop Les Paul's. Yes buy one - you won't regret it.

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty
A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.
Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.
How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.
Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.
Purchasing additional years of coverage
Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.
If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:
NEW products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
USED products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
