TC Electronic MojoMojo Overdrive
MojoMojo Overdrive is the overdrive pedal that will breathe life, magic and that certain something into your sound, making your playing stand out. Guitarists everywhere are always looking for that little extra push over the cliff, a touch of magic to their sound that gives just that extra bit of bite, body and tone. MojoMojo Overdrive will give you that flash of perfection every time you engage it, providing a crisp and clear overdrive with a rock-solid bottom end.
A sweet blues lead, an extra chunky rhythm tone or a soaring solo, it's all there - and then some. MojoMojo Overdrive is equipped with separate bass and treble controls and a bass-response voice toggle that prevents your bass frequencies from ever disappearing when you step on the pedal. For maximum mojo, MojoMojo Overdrive features true bypass, an easy-access battery hatch, a small footprint and the highest-grade components.
Tore Mogensen presents MojoMojo OverdriveFine design
Designing MojoMojo Overdrive was both very simple and very complex. We knew what we wanted from the start: A pedal that sounds like an amp, a very open character and little compression. We wanted the pedal to be alive, have an attitude and pick up on the subtleties of your playing in a dynamic way. To add to the challenge, we didn't go for the sound of any old amp, MojoMojo Overdrive needed to give you that sweet, glassy and purely musical cranked tweed sound. We basically set out to capture lightning in a bottle with a clarity that even allowed for complex chords to stand out. We wanted to deliver the magic, spine-shivering feeling of an amplifier working hard and delivering pure valve tone.
Also, we recognized that adding an overdrive isn't simple for tone-conscious guitarists. Anyone can slam a pedal onto their board and hope for the best, but we know what it's like to spend countless hours sculpting your own sound. And when adding an overdrive, the last thing you want is for the tone to change. We set out to deliver a pedal that adds new stages of crunch, but leaves your tone alone, just like a great overdrive pedal should. In other words, MojoMojo Overdrive is like adding another channel to your amp and it will sound like it always belonged there.
So far for the simple part. The complex part came in designing the pedals. We are excited to say we solved the puzzle, and that the result is simply astounding.
Ride the lightning
One of the reasons why we've achieved such a dynamic pedal is the fact that we use a special circuit that ramps up the voltage to more than 3-4 times the amount of your typical drive pedals. However, we don't use this added gain to squeeze more overdrive/distortion out of the pedal, but to dramatically increase the headroom and dynamics.
The result? The most alive overdrive you have ever heard, a pedal that defines all that is magic about overdriven sounds and a pedal that responds to your playing in dynamic and ultra-musical ways. It cleans up when you want it to and when you really dig in, MojoMojo Overdrive is right there with you. The word pedal' doesn't even begin to describe this little box of wonder, it needs to be tried to be believed.

It was a long time that i was looking for a transparent light overdrive, transparent mean not coloring the original sound of your guitar's strings. I play a telecaster on bridge PU most of the time for country music, most of overdrive was adding mids and loosing bass on low stings. This TC MOJOMOJO, WOW just Transparent! the bass and treble knob are a great help. i am considrering buying a second one for the secong stage of overdrive and boost. Better pedal for a fraction of the price from competitions. Nice work TC Electronics!

wow....really versatile overdrive pedal. I use it to fatten up and add a bit of grit to my stock mexi jazz bass. much cheaper than changing pickups or adding an onboard preamp IMO. I run it first on my pedalboard
mojo - envelope - octaver - buffered tuner
it drives my other pedals and makes them sound tighter and track better. overall an excellent value for my needs. I want another one.

I bought the pedal when I had a Traynor YCV20WR and it was really good with that amp but when I got a YCS90 it did nothing.
I bought the pedal because it had a bass knob. I wanted some more bottom end on the treble strings for leads. It did that really well on the smaller amp but on the larger amp I found the bass not as transparent.
The drive was very dynamic on the smaller amp but on the larger amp I found it acted more like my Spark Mini booster pedal.
I was still great on the dirty channel but that is not what I bought it for.
Overall I found that the pedal did not boost the mids as much as the treble on the large amp so it was great for chords but not single notes and leads.
But I would still say that on a smaller amp this is worth a look.

Wow!... what more is there to say about this pedal.
Easily blends with your amp. I have an old Marshall plexi and a modern Revv Gen740 and this overdrive works fantastic with both. As a standalone low/mid gain dirt overdrive when used with a clean sound and as extra crunch on a barely breaking us sound... pushes your amp over the top!
Boosts well for leads without squishing your tone with compression. I tried the Union More pedal what a let down very overcompressed and squished tone and oh my that price... NOPE! Get the MojoMojo if you want to be pleasantly surprised.
Thankfully it does not sound like a Tube Screamer ( let Tube Screamer's do that) and offers a more balanced refined modern clipping. It actuall sounds and responds like a well designed tube circuit. The bass knob magically takes you from modern tighter bass to a really impressive organic vintage bass which never gets woofy. The treble is well voiced in that its never unpleasant. Touch sensitive and is actually very transparent if you listen to the dials or can add flavour if that's your thing (see Paul Gilbert). Ultra quiet and gig ready solid build. I've played OD pedals costing 10 times more that were not even close to this. Don't let the price fool you this is a stellar pedal.
TC Needs to bas a mid to high gain pedal on the MojoMojo... maybe call it the MorjoMorjo.

This is a great overdrive pedal that creates a nice fat rhythm sound for most amps. I'm just frustrated that it costed $135 about a year ago when I bought it. TC needs to stop changing their prices all the time. It seems like every TC pedal I've purchased has since gone down in price. And every one I don't own but was interested in has gone up.

This pedal should not be confused with distortion pedals or overdrive pedals that drive your amp into massive fits of overdrive. This pedal duplicates the effect of turning your amp volume up to get to the point where natural overdrive starts to kick in. It also has a nice control over the bass which often disappears on other overdrive/distortion pedals. It can be left on all the time and even restores frequencies lost by other pedals and would be great used after a tube screamer. The best feature of this pedal is that it doesn't color or alter the basic tone of your amp. If you want tons of distortion , this is the wrong pedal. if you want a pedal that adds moderate overdrive and makes every amp sound like a better version of itself , this may be your new favorite pedal.

I bought this some weeks ago. Using it with a LP special and a Vox ac15.
At first I was not impressed. I wanted something to use as a clean boost through to overdrive. It's not very good as a clean boost - you always get some color.
This has a lot of low end, which will probably just get in the way of the bass department. It has a voice switch which toggles between raw and bass boost. I would have been more happy with to toggle between raw and bass cut.
It worked very weird with my neck pickup. All the highs would vanish and I would have a fartbox sound at gain. After thinking about it for a while I reduced the height of my neck pickup - I had it very high; louder than bridge cause it sounds awesome squishing the vox. I lowered the pickup and suddenly the pedal worked great with my guitar.
I think i wish there was a switch to toggle the dynamic response because a super hot pickup with push that dynamic filter to the ceiling.
The switch on the pedal works, but it has a lot of wiggle room. Probably could have used a heavier spring.
I had some mixed thoughts, but now, after some musing, tweaking and picking, I just love it. I find that it is turned on all the time. This might be the first pedal in years to actually go between my guitar and my amp and not sit on the shelf of forgotten oddities. It does what it should do and gives my guitar an extra gear.

Just picked up this pedal as I was looking for a boost. I have a Blackstar HT-5 w/ a Les Paul, which I found lacking a little in that heavy sound, and this pedal works wonderfully for that. It adds just that extra little bit to the dirty channel that was missing.
As a standalone OD on the clean channel, it's not very good (in my opinion), but that's not what I bought it for.

Simply a fabulous sounding pedal. When I heard it, was completely blown away that this MojoMojo was $57.00, it sounds better than many more ODs costing in the hundreds.
