The new Les Paul Junior Tobacco Burst returns to the classic design that made it relevant, played and loved, shaping sound across generations and genres of music. It pays tribute to Gibson's Golden Era of innovation and brings authenticity back to life. Introduced as an affordable option for students and beginners in 1954, the Les Paul Junior has been embraced by musicians for over 60 years. The single cutaway slab mahogany body, single dogear P-90 pickup, single volume and tone controls all add up to a whole lot of guitar which is greater than the sum of its parts. The fat 50's style neck profile and wraparound bridge add to the equation for rock solid tone.
Finishes Available: Vintage Tobacco Burst & Ebony

Can’t believe how great these lil’ Jr.‘s are. I’ve always preferred a slimmer neck but dang, this guitar feels good. A bit of a handful but nothing crazy. The single P90 is actually very versatile and it’s easy to coax a variety of sounds from the volume and tone controls. The pots have a smooth, wide taper making even small adjustments noticeable. If you’ve never played one before,I highly recommend taking a Jr. for a test drive if drive. I definitely haven’t any regrets!

I bought a Jr today and I am blown away at how great this guitar is, I was thinking about going custom shop but I honestly think it's not necessary because the USA guitars Gibson are making right now are fantastic.

Had this guitar for a year now. I found the neck a bit chunky at first, but it's easy to get used to. Juniors are not known for great intonation I know, but I couldn't get it to play tunefully with the stock tailpiece. Then I got a ($139 US) MojoAxe compensated tailpiece, and what a difference. It's now a complete joy to play.

I recently challenged myself to get back to my blues roots. I've played for 60 years, and have owned many Gibsons. This guitar is exactly what it purports to be. It's a sturdy, well-made, basic Roots Machine. The mahogany neck and body provide extraordinary sustain acoustically. The guitar "sings" by itself. The pots are smooth and offer a wide spectrum of tonal possibilities from the P-90. No other guitar can sound quite like this American beauty. I love the "50's style" neck profile. It feels more like an acoustic, which I happen to like. I also like unbound fret-boards. The nitro ebony finish on mine is flawless. There are guitars out there with many more bells and whistles for $2k - but none of them can do exactly what this guitar does. It's for that certain guy who understands where our music originally came from. You know who you are.

I'm old enough to remember when these little hotrods were original. I recently challenged myself to get back to my blues roots. This guitar kept crossing my mind, so I jumped. The finish is 100% perfect. The nitro ebony is like a mirror. The unbound neck (my personal preference) is very comfortable in my hand. As a major acoustic player, switching to this "50's style" neck profile is easy. This thing resonates (acoustically) like no other guitar I've owned. Plugged in - there is NO substitute for that Gibson P-90 sound. You can try to replicate it, but you will fail. The price is steep, when compared with other guitars in this price range, but no other guitar can match what this thing does. On the "negative" side - you'll need to order a compensated bridge (try Mojo-axe) if you want to fine-tune; and you'll need to install a shim beneath the P-90, if you want the poles to be set at the recommended 1/16th" below the strings. This is a "crude" Roots / Blues / Rock guitar. Shredders need not apply.

One of my best guitar purchases yet. Sounds awesome through my 57 Custom Champ. As simple as it is as a one pickup guitar this is a tone monster. The neck is a perfect fit, for my taste anyway, which makes it hard to put down! Thanks Andrew (Ottawa Store) for the great service!

Bought an Ebony Les Paul Jr about two weeks ago. I also own a 2016 Gibson Les Paul traditional and various other guitars. This is such a great feeling and sounding guitar! So light and resonant, the pickup is really well voiced, just hot and bright enough to rock, but easy to tame for warmer and sweeter sounds. The tone and volume pots are really high quality and maybe the most useful of any guitar I've owned. It's the perfect mix of Gibson playability, sustain, and low end, with some of that punchy clear single coil character mixed in. I also like the fat 50s style neck, very comfortable.

I honestly didn't expect this LP Junior to be as good as it is! Finish is flawless, neck is straight, and it intonates perfectly! It looks real close to a vintage one, built with the same materials, and the sonic variations this guitar can produce just blows my mind! It sounds so good!

3 years ago, this greenhorn Newby wishes he knew then what he knows now. I'm now in the market for a hallow body Made in the USA Gibson ES-339. Now that this beginner-intermediate knows a bit more now then he didn't 3 years ago, I will pass the Epiphone and going straight for the Gibson made in the USA ES-339. I will save my money to get it just like I did for the Gibson Les Paul Jr made in the USA. The Orleans Long&Mcquade store is the place to go.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
