Answer: No, it has a built in rechargeable battery.

Answer: The pedal clicks on and clicks off. When it's on the signal is muted and the tuner works. When it's off the tuner is bypassed.

Answer: The Peterson Strobostomp HD Tuner Pedal has a Tuner Monitoring mode that allows the tuner to be active at all times.
