I’d definitely reccomend this amp for people who are trying to get a cheaper amp. It has great sound quality and adding your own presets is very easy to do.

This is a great little amp weather it’s for a beginner or just jamming at home in a smaller space, this amp has enough features to get started and many presets you can modify and make your own. Unfortunately there is no wireless, Bluetooth or phone app connectivity but, for the price you can’t beat it.

This little amp does it all. You have 30 presets that are adjustable, and 30 empty banks to create your own custom sounds. You will not find a better amp for $209 CAN.

I bought this as my first amp, for use with my Jackson JS22. I only use it as a practice amp in my basement. First of all, one of the things that caught my eye was the presets. It has 30 stock presets, and 30 empty slots where you can make (on the amp or using Fender Tone) or download your own (using Fender Tone). The variety is great, with everything from jazz, blues, metal and an acoustic Sim. They all sound great (Disclaimer: It sounds great for a $200 amp). Basically, if you need a practice amp, or even something for gigging on a budget, this is for you!

I bought this for home practice and this thing sounds fantastic!!! The selection of amps and effects is cray for two brown bills! I would like to complain Fender didn't design a 3 or four button foot switch for this to make it more flexible but man, at this price point it's not fair with the value you get. Need a small amp? Trust me GO BUY THIS ONE! And hey, Long and McQuade stand b hind everything they sell and if for some strange reason it's not for you they will take it back! It's win/win my friends!!!

I bought this for a practice amp for my living room. With the software you can dial in pretty much any sound you like (some of the stock presets are kind of weird). My two go-to custom sounds mimic a Marshall JCM800 and an Orange Rocker. Plays plenty loud, but also sounds really good at low volumes. The software is easy to use and having a built in tuner is great for a practice amp. I actually found this amp easier to use and better sounding than the Boss Katana.

Bought it due to its options and ease of use. Really nice amp overall; however, when the volume is turned up more than the "normal range", I found that the sound loses a fair bit of quality. It sounds as though the speaker was not designed for anything more playing with the volume quite low. Accessing the options is best done on your computer when altering the sound on each of the presets or creating something on your own. Good amp for the price, but don't expect anything more than what you are paying for. Now in the market for something a bit better.

9/10 because of the built In tuner, It's not accurate, Other then that this is a pretty decent amp for the price and what it can do

I was going to buy a BOSS DS-2 Turbo Overdrive / Distortion pedal to add to my collection, but this little amp provides many more effects than just one or two - I couldn't resist the many. Later for the pedal collection... I wanted to scoop this amp up before it returns to it's regular price !

I bought this amp so I won't always have to buy pedals and I guarantee you it is worth the price. There are 30 presets and it is easy to make some ourselves. The integrated tuner is also a life-saver! Overall, it's perfect for someone who simply plays for fun but I wouldn't necessarily recommend it for a gig.

I really like this amp. It's great for practicing, but I find it's not loud enough to jam with drums. Having said that - it's well made, well featured and has everything you would want for practicing at home. The onboard effects are pretty well done and nice to have as well.

My budget was limited, and I was looking at a choice between either an amp or an effects box / some effects pedals. I heard someone play through this amp, and I thought "that sounds good". I tried a Champion 20, Marshall, Line6 and this one, and this one got me after two minutes of playing. There is a good set of presets to choose from, enough to get started on building your own. You can also hook up Fender Tone through your PC, and will get a number of other presets as well as part of the synch process. Overall, this was the best choice out of the 200 to 300 CAD range.

As a new guitar player this amp really delivered. I like how you can customize the tones with the app. I just connect it to my laptop and the app has a nice visual representation of the various amps and pedals you can use. You don't need to use the app to do this, you can tweak things on the amp's screen too. I find that with so many customization slots, you have more than enough room for any tone you might need. The sounds didn't sound hollow or crappy to me ... they sound like they're coming from an analogue amp to me, though I'm sure there are more knowledgeable people reading this who would challenge that. And you can customize the names of the tones you create too so it's easy to put together a customized lineup of tones that you need and can then quickly access while playing with the dial. I agree with some comments the sound can get a bit rattled at high volumes, but this isn't a gigging amp and I knew that going in. I actually was surprised by how loud it was. I've never tried it but I'm sure you could use it to practice with a band unless the other members are really loud. The only potential issue I see is that some of the dials, buttons, inputs, cabinet, etc don't look like they'd take much rough use. Like I could see the rotating dials crapping out if the amp was subject to a lot of rough use or moving around. The headphone jack in particular looks a little flimsy. I'd have preferred a 1/4 input instead of 1/8. But again, if this is in your practice room it will be fine. Take it on tour or slug it around a lot, and I could see the components breaking down, they're just not super robust. Get your hands on the amp and you'll see what I mean. Anyway, I just found this amp really great value for the money.

This amp is awesome! it's far easier to use and navigate than the line6 spider, has better options and it doesn't sound "fake" or digital at all. It goes surprisingly loud too, it could be heard over a 17 person jazz band just fine and still sounds good at high volumes. Minor buzzing noises at the high volumes but that's not a huge deal since it's a practice amp Also: do yourself a favour and pick up the footswitch, it's cheap and incredibly useful.

I like the clean channel. But that's about it. Navigating the menus is easy and there are some okay patches/tones reminiscent of what i could hear from a POD 2.0. But for the price point, you might be happier spending a little more money and looking at a katana. I use HELIX and analog for my main tones.

The Amp in itself is a bargain for all it offers right out of the box but the specs improve when you run the firmware update and it suddenly offers 50 sounds and 50 customization slots - connect the amp via a USB port to a PC/tablet and downloading the software, firmware updates, drivers - its well worth the effort. The value compared to other modeling amps is a head-scratcher (and oh, yeah, ITS A FENDER!!) - will leave you running out of L&M saying "start the car, start the car !" So before they raise the price, go grab one if you were looking to get a nice tight sounding amp with all that sound and takes up a reasonable amount of space. zIf you want to get loud, buy the bigger models, or throw on some headphones and go nuts - you don't buy this amp to get stage performance volumes - its for noodling around/creating with different amp/pedal ideas and just plain practicing in a room. The best practice amp value in L&M for THIS category of amp. Sounds great with my Strat (SSS) and my LP (HH) sounds even better, Also - I'll definitely be buying the Rumble LT-25 for my JB this Christmas, looks like another great "bang-for-your buck" for bass players (thanks for not ignoring bass guitars Fender). Enjoy!

Perfect for beginners to practice and learn on, to intermediate players that just need something easy to carry and warm up prior to a gig. It has 50 presets that has a lot of great usable tones, very easy to navigate and change to make your own sounds. No computer of phone app required to use, just plug and play. No vibration or rattles as noted by the other review, it has great full tones for a small amp and can get loud in the house. Recommended!

The other review is his opinion obviously. This amp can be adjusted in so many ways it boggled my mind. Rattle and hum if any can be handled by adjusting the settings by hitting the button selecting what you want and turn it up or down, presets can even be set up how YOU like and saved. I have no complaints.

This amp can be made to sound fantastic for the first 1/4 of the volume knob. Turn it past 11oclock and it's vibration/ rattle city... At least mine was. It's going back. I figured having a wooden cabinet, like it does, would have fixed that problem. It's a shame, because I really like this little amp.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
