Neumann NDH 20 Closed-Back Studio Headphones
Additional Photos:
Premium quality closed-back studio headphone for monitoring, editing, and mixing.
The Neumann NDH 20 is a closed-back headphone combining excellent isolation with the carefully balanced sound image and outstanding resolution you'd expect from a Neumann product. The NDH 20 is thus ideally suited to monitoring and mixing tasks, even in loud and noisy environments. Circumaural memory foam ear pads offer high long-term comfort.
FEATURES
The NDH 20 offers an astonishingly detailed, well-balanced sound image, similar to Neumann's acclaimed studio loudspeakers. Superior sonics along with large memory foam ear pads make the NDH 20 a pleasure to wear for long periods without fatigue.
The NDH 20 uses newly designed drivers (38 mm/1.5") with high-gauss neodymium magnets to ensure high sensitivity and minimized distortion, thus allowing the user to listen to the pure audio signal without unwanted colouration. For easy transportation the headphone is foldable and can be placed into the supplied soft cloth bag. Two detachable cables (one straight, one coiled) and a 6.3 mm (1/4") adapter are also included.
APPLICATIONS
The NDH 20 is suited to all applications that require high sound isolation such as monitoring for musicians and engineers in the tracking room as well as FOH work. It is also an excellent choice for critical listening, free from disturbance from the outside world and, vice versa, without causing disturbance to people nearby due to leakage. Thanks to its extended frequency response ranging from 5 Hz to 30 kHz the NDH 20 is particularly helpful to check the upper and lower extremes of the audio band.
Unlike most other closed-back headphones, the Neumann NDH 20 is suited to mixing purposes too. An unusually even frequency response and natural stereo image allow for mixing with confidence and ensure compatibility to all playback systems. The NDH 20 is thus an indispensible tool for working on the road. Of course, it is also an excellent headphone for audiophile entertainment.

what true audiophile headphones sounded like until now. I bought these without even trying them (from L&M Kanata). I read good reviews and liked the build quality. I bought them mainly for gaming because all the reviews/opinions out there say they are very accurate but flat/ boring which I prefer for movies and games (not music). Like a giddy child at Christmas I got in the car, ripped off the shrink wrap and plugged them into my samsung s10. I wasn't expecting much from it but was instantly smiling. Listened to some Beatles in UltaHD from amazon music and could not believe what was coming from my unamped phone (cranked almost to max volume). At home I have a modest ifi Black Label Nano dac which do an excellent job driving these. I'm not sure what people are talking about these being "boring". Everything from lowest lows to the crispy highs sound so upfront and detailed. I always prefer adding a bit of bass to my music but I do not need to do that with these. They're so fun to listen to I can't believe these are designed for monitoring. While they aren't the most comfortable headphones I've ever owned they aren't causing ma any discomfort after a few hours of listening and I have a larger head. My only wish is that they came with a short cable and carrying case for portability because these will be replacing my IEM's in most situations :).
For perspective my previous wired over ears were the ATH-M70x. I also use Westone UM50's (2nd gen) for on the go music. I also use the Sony sony wh-1000xm3 from time to time.

Listened to many headphones but for the price the Neumann
headphones seemed to me to be the best deal.
Why?
I Tried them at different volumes to check out their detail ability. As I listened at low volume they produced the Quality detail without ear fatigue. At louder volumes they still stayed detailed and smooth. My mixes have been translating correctly to other systems when played back.
No more struggling to get Quality mix. Nice.

Ha Ha Ha! These Headphones where an investment alright.
These things even at low volumes give me true accurate sonic picture.
No ear fatuige.
Pro detail of whats happening in my mix. Hearing subtle details of plugins like reverb tails, compressors and so on.
Gives transferable mixs.
Comfortable over lengthy use while mixing.
Built to last under normal use in my opinion.
Yes sir, Got me a winner when I bought these.
