Dead G. No sustain at all. That string is where joy goes to die. I’ve had this happen with cheap strings but not when you’re paying this much. Should have stuck with Thomastiks. I kind of feel ripped off.

I think these hold their tune better, sound better, and feel better than the competition. I have cheap basses and expensive basses. I buy a lot of different strings just so things don't all sound the same. If I really like the bass, it wears these. I haven't broken one yet, which is more than I can say for some.

If the bass costs more than $500, I put these on. Less than $500 "Chromes". I can't knock Labella but I think these sound better. I would recomend Rotosound Steve Harris but they are hard to find.

I have always played with round wound strings. Probably because it is what the bass came with and I did not know any better. Watching youtube and discovering flat wound strings and their purpose. To have a less treble tonal quality. The more of a traditional stand up bass kind of sound. And of course the feel of them under your fingers. The quality of the sound produced when doing slides, without the scratchy wound bits of the string getting into the sound. I use a Fender squire P-Bass style guitar with upgraded Seymor Duncan Quarter Pounder pickups. These flatwound strings bring out the missing bits of the notes I was looking for.

After play bass for almost 30 years, these are my first flats. I have never played another set of flats before so I have nothing to compare them to, but they sound great. I put these on my American Standard P-Bass. The feeling on the tips of your fingers takes some getting used to, but I'm sure that will pass. I will probably buy another set for a Korean P-Bass copy I own.

Love the feel of flat wounds they're easy for me to slide up and down the fretboard. As Steve Harris of Iron Maiden states. "All I've ever wanted to use" and I concur. I wouldn't want to use any other string.
