This high energy version of La Cucaracha contains many of Prado's trademarks. Screaming trumpets, fat pedals from the trombones and sharp unison sax counterpoints, yet it still finds time to contain a rhythmically well crafted trombone solo that sits comfortably in the middle of the chart. The only thing that your band will need to grapple with is the change of rhythmic feel at the close, where a lick from Mexican Hat Dance is thrown into the mix. The lead trumpet is also written to high F for the last chord, but added in are some cue notes to the section, reducing the required range of the lead to C#. There are no sax doubles.
