I bought this case to carry my cheapo instrument all over northern Europe on the back of my bicycle. It was exposed to rain and sun, the instrument was never even damp (not even in the UK!). The black vinyl blistered a bit in the sun, but shrank back into place when it cooled down.It held my mandolin snug over rough trails and aircraft baggage handlers. I couldn't ask for a better case...just a better mandolin.
