I have owned around 8 different Paiste ride cymbals. The 21" Dark Dry ride is a very versatile cymbal. I feel I could use it in a "modern rock" type application or even a jazz setting. For my applications it has just the right amount of "ping" while I can build up a nice "wash" for a great dynamic effect. I would describe the bell sound as slightly integrated but still very clean. It's almost impossible to find the "perfect" ride cymbal, but this one comes very close for me. A beautiful cymbal!
