So this thing works great and does everything it's supposed to. Clean gain boost for my SM7B going into a Scarlett 2i2 2nd gen. Only had to put the gain on the Scarlett to around 0.8 - 1 and it worked perfectly. Problem I had is that I do voiceovers and I control Reaper with my cell phone. It allows me to record arm, record playback etc. I also use a tablet to read scripts from. Well I was getting electrical interference hums, clicks and pops coming through my headphones from my devices. I know it was from my devices, the sound would get louder as I brought my phone closer to the Fethead. I was using the same setup with different mics and no Fethead for a while now and no noise issues. If I had a different setup this could not be an issue. I exchanged it for a Cloudlifter, problem solved. The Cloudlifter is nowhere near my devices (outside my booth). No more noise Might have been something to do with my setup/electrical in my apartment also but regardless, it was un-useable for me. Setup was Laptop -> Scarlett2i2-> Fethead->SM7B.

Having the FetHead inline Mic preamp right on the Shure SM7B really reduced noise pickup and provided the need amplification. Worked without an issue. As well, prior to the Shure SM7B, used it on a Shure SM58 and it was a solid work hoarse. The LM Scarborough Team were awesome in sourcing a unit for me. I'm thinking of getting another one... Note, Scored only a '3' on features, but really there are no features on the unit. It just provided clean amplification and that was what I was looking for; adjustments were made on the mixer.
