My Martin D35 came with Lifespan 2.0 mediums. They sounded really good on it but I tried numerous other strings over the past 2 years and find that authentic SP mediums (uncoated) sound the best on this guitar. Inexpensive and last as long as any other string. Particularly good if you are a compulsive string changer like me.

I love these strings - bright, clear, deep, soulful, and easy to play. Nothing sounds better on my D-18

I used to stick to elixir strings only but thought I'll give these a try.
I noticed they collect dirt and corrode quicker than the elixirs. This is obvious because they don't use the same protection tech that elixir does. But besides that, they are less than half the price and they sound pretty good. I wanna say it boils down to how you like the sound.

Just put these on my guitar, these are the best strings I've ever used. Tone and playability are second to none. All six strings are tin plated and makes for a soft feeling on all six strings. High "e" and b strings have a clear sweet tone.I will never use other brands again.

The old version of the martin strings were better than these .... I put these on my martin since they didnt have the other versions in the store (discontinued?) and at first i thought "oh it sounds different but ill let them settle" ... well they haven't "settled" ... i find the bass tone has been significantly diminished with these 2.0 version strings

I would have to agree with the other review.
These Strings replaced the originals on a Martin DRS1 and I found that they diminish the over all sound quality and playability.

I loved the old life spans. They were my go to every time for my hd28v. They didn't have the old version of the strings at the store , so I bought the 2.0. New is better or so you hope. Yes these strings are smoother and they break in faster but one should never settle for less tone. Matin should know that. Sadly the 2.0 is a tonal disappointment.
