Have wanted an LP junior since i started playing guitar as many musicians I listened to were using them but most were way to expensive. I recently heard about Gibson's 2019 lineup having much better quality control and better quality overall and was in love with the price as well. I Got one of these in worn brown just about a year ago as a very generous gift from my parents and friends and have been nothing but impressed. I have not had the opportunity to play many Gibson Guitars but this one is by far one of the best sounding with the p90! Very light, great looks imo and will cherish this gift for the rest of my life. If you're on the fence about buying one, just pull the trigger. It is very much worth it!

Was gassing for a JR for a long time, just waited for the right one. This is it. All you need in a electric guitar, sounds great, super light also. Finish wasn't perfect but the tone and feel was so went with the brown one. Highly recommended if you are looking for a no frills rock guitar. Shout out to the Burlington tech for the great job setting it up.

Got this just last weekend. There wasn't much of a selection in store unfortunately, probably due to these guitars selling well. I was lucky enough to find a light weight one, in near perfect condition and with only a two piece, center seam body. It needed a set up like all my previous Gibson did but I have the tools and experience and did it the very next day. This guitar is a keeper for sure and complements my 2010 R7 GT nicely. Amazing value for the money as well.

Been wanting a JR for a very long time, waited for the right one to come out and they did it this year. Plays and sounds great. Fit and finish were not perfect but I'll overlook that in a lightweight, affordable tone machine. Shout out to the Burlington techs for doing a great set up on it. Try one before they are gone!

This guitar is amazing from top to bottom. The tuning keys are excellent and always keep the guitar in tune. The nut was cut correctly!!. The frets are perfect all the way down the neck( no sharp fret ends!). The lightning bar was spot on and needed little adjusting for perfect intonation. The p90 p-up is killer!! It has that rock/blues(slide..oh man so good)/grunge/metal(djent lol)/jazz/country actually whatever tone you want and it's so easy to dial it all in with the volume and tone knob. The neck is nice and comfortable and easy to play, slim but wide. The fit and finish on the worn brown is amazing, I couldn't find one thing wrong with it and I've gone over the guitar multiple times. If you're thinking about checking one out go for it. It really is an amazing little guitar.

I am absolutely floored by how much fun this guitar is to play. Fit and finish is great, sound is there, and the price is right. It's idiot simple -- two knobs, one pickup, and that's it. That's the beauty of this thing. Pick one up. Easily stands with my more expensive Gibsons.

I bought this as soon as it came out (I actually unboxed 2 at Mississauga store- a cherry and a brown) Both were ok. I went Bloor and tried 2 again. I wanted the cherry but the brown played and sounded too good (and get this... it was a one piece body!) It needed a small couple of adjustments at home for action and it rocked. Comfortable, well made (unusual for me since Gibson has always been notoriously sketchy for years) and sound KILLER ! I use it through a vox ac15 and it is SO touch responsive. Cleans up nice with the volume control, intonation is spot on and action allows for bends a major 3 depending where you are on the FB. Fit and finish is lovely and the aesthetics (for such a simple axe) are compelling. I've been rushing home every day to play it and giggle with delight. I bought it on thanksgiving weekend and have been thankful ever since. This one is a winner,,, good luck finding one (I hope you do). I lent to a buddy 24 hours ago and I'm already missing it (I have over a dozen guitars) P90 is so flexible and the tones are so organic, it's crazy. Wish I could post a pic. Comes with a cheap padded gig bag. I rarely write reviews but this one is special.

I ordered one as soon as it was announced. I always wanted a junior but I was not going to pay the prices Gibson wanted in 2018 for them. This guitar is priced perfectly and it doesn't feel cheap at all like previous iterations of these satin finish guitars from Gibson. The finish feels very smooth and they gave the back of the neck a slightly more faded look which makes it look worn and adds to the vintage charm of this axe. The brown is gorgeous. I recommend this colour out of the others you can get if you are into a more vintage look. The neck is slim but unlike the slim taper from previous years, this one feels slightly wider in my hands. It is nice and smooth and easy to play. The P90 sounds great, hardly any hum at volume and it has a raw quality to it as you can get awesome feedback from it quite easily. It just adds to the charm of this no frills rock and roll machine. I love that it has just one volume and on tone. Straightforward, ready to go. BTW the guitar was FLAWLESS. I know we all concern about the Gibson quality and having owned a few Gibsons, I have seen my share of issues. I can tell you that this one came perfect. Finish, workmanship, setup, you can tell there was real pride from the people that made this. It is really nice to see and I hope it's a sign of things to come from this guitar giant. If you are thinking about one, do no hesitate.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
