  • Based on Purple Channel 3 from the Revv Generator 120 MKII
  • Suitable for: Metal, Rock, Blues, Country, Prog, Fusion, Punk, Extreme.
  • Plays nice with Combos, Heads, Pedalboard Rigs, in Effects Loops, w/ Cab Modeling.
  • Form Factor: Small Single-Space Enclosure, Standard 9v Power (center negative 9v external power supply only)
  • Durable Construction, Top-Mounted Jacks, Blue LED, Laser Etching.
  • Versatile - Fat and warm or tight & bright. Heavy amp-like saturation or light overdrive.
  • Integrates Into Any Rig - "Distortion channel" in front of a clean amp, another flavor of gain with a multi-channel amp, easy traveling, great studio tool, works great with analog & digital.

This pedal is probably one of the best distortion pedals with the super sounds of the 70s through the nastiest gains of today. Manitoba company REVV just keeps on crushing it with these pedals. I’m running mine into a MESA/Boogie Fillmore 25, and clean, it’s awesome to get this distortion on tap; want to really sound evil? Use the gain stacking. It’s INSANELY GOOD.

Lots of gain on tap! I use it in front of my Bassbreaker 30R. I haven't really tried using it as a preamp, but so far I really like the tones I'm getting. The EQ is quite sensitive and you can shape your tone further with the aggression switch, so its pretty versatile. Overall, I'm quite happy with my purchase. I would rate the value 6 out of 5 if I could since mine came with candy (whoever threw that in, thank you - I am now a fan of fuzzy peach Maynards).

three modes of gain, classic gain (classic 80s marshall), pushed midrange (Soldano ish?), then scooped high gain (Rectifier style but already pushed/boosted). The EQ band is shocking and stunning it has so much range in the sweep and is so active. For the EQ alone this pedal is worth it. It feels like two pedals in one. Massive EQ sculpting, then 3 modes of gain. Pedal possibly designed as pre-amp pedal, but who cares it sounds great in any applications. Gain, high gain, high gain scooped, boost, EQ adjustment. Right now I'm using my amp as titch more than edge of breakup with loose feel and not compressed. Then I have 3 more modes of gain applicable and I can dial in anything else with the EQ. Plus it is Canadian-made and you're buying it here from a Canadian store. In times like these it helps your neighbours.

Kicks butt, running my white les Paul Custom into my Boss TU3, into Revv G3, into Fortin Zuul mini noise gate, into boss chorus, into boss DD3 into Boss RC-3 into my Marshall JMP. It’s “We Die Young” tone.

Une tonne de brique. Impossible de faire mal sonner cette pédale, peu importe comment elle est tweaker. Du blues au metal, j'avais 4 overdrive de qualité correct, et elle les a tous remplacé a elle seule. Fabriqué au Canada... wow

I was an early adopter on this pedal. I grabbed one as soon as they were available. I play through a Revv Generator 7-40 head and the purple channel is the only thing I was missing so it was a no-brainer. I think that the G3 pedal really captures the purple channel as closely as you can expect in a small box. It literally has more than enough gain on tap for anything I can imagine. I found the sweet spot to be at about 3-4 on the gain knob, but a couple notches higher and you could easily rip some Pantera/Hair Metal harmonics with ease. At one point I did a shootout between 6-7 boost/OD/pre-amp pedals and the G3 more than held it's own against pricier boutique pedals (Chase Bliss) and against tried classics (Ibanez TS9). It is a little bit costly, but it is made in Canada and the company has top level service. I am a Revv customer and I will be for a long time.

I could not recommend this pedal highly enough. I play with this pedal in front of a Fender Princeton, and this pedal sounds absolutely massive. The layout is simple and easy to use, so you can get the tone you're looking for without hassle. My only complaint is that it did not include a power supply; For $300 I though a power supply would be included.

Very tight but also inspiring pedal to play. Tighter than my Friedman BE-OD. The fundamental note never gets buried, it remains clear and blunt in its attack. It still feels spongy and good under the fingers. Beautiful distortion texture. When aggression switch is in off position, it makes no noise. Super flexible EQ. Great for players who love to have every single note stand out and who value precision. Sounds and feels more like an amp than a pedal. Use in front of clean amp. Excellent piece of gear from Canadian company. Get it! Can't imagine any heavy player that wouldn't like it.

This is an extremely versatile unit that easily handles lightly overdriven blues stuff all the way to progressive metal. It works with tube amps, plays well with my modeller, and even works well as an amp in a box. The sweep on all of the EQ settings is very broad, and there are no useless ranges. It truly is one of the best pieces of gear I have owned.

Does everything except clean boost. If not perfection. OD boost to distortion & high gain boost. On it`s own a phenomenal OD distortion & high gain unit. All your guitars keep their unique character . Extremely string responsive & articulate. Brings a already good amp alive to the next level. purchased this only trusting the very limited youtube demos. slightly pricey, well worth the investment. G.

Compression?, distotion?,tone?, very responsive. Like an amp on full power but controllable so your neighbors won't hate you. So responsive. Invites you to shred. Very full chord voicing. I use it with a noise gate. Perfect for my living room concerts.

This pedal totally trumps the Wampler Pinnacle Deluxe which I thought was the "bee's knees" for the longest time. This thing can go from SRV to Slipknot. The EQ settings allow you to change the presence of the frequencies in a very pleasing way; extremely flexible. Nothing is shrill, and certainly not muddy. The best part of it is that it is made in Manitoba, Canada; what better way to support our economy. As a teacher of Long & McQuade I recommend this pedal to ALL of my students and to anyone else for that matter.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
