Bold, innovative and rugged, the Player Telecaster is pure Fender, through and through. The feel, the style and, most importantly, the sound - they're all there, waiting for you to make them whisper or wail for your music. Versatile enough to handle almost anything you can create and durable enough to survive any gig, this workhorse is a trusty sidekick for your musical vision.

The pair of Player Series single-coil Telecaster pickups are crisp and articulate - it's authentic Fender tone with a modern edge. The "Modern C"-shaped maple neck's comfortable contours and smooth finish are ideal for almost any playing style. The addition of a 22nd medium jumbo fret to the contemporary 9.5"-radius fingerboard makes it easier to express yourself musically. To enhance the traditional twang and bite of a Telecaster, Fender added bent-steel saddles to the string-throughbody bridge for precise intonation and to help your sound cut through the mix, sustaining until the sun burns out. Other features include master volume and tone controls, a 3-way pickup switch with barrel tip, 3-ply pickguard, synthetic bone nut, dual-wing string tree, sealed tuning machines and four-bolt "F"-stamped neck plate that marks this instrument as the real deal - as Fender as it gets.

When you need a guitar that will take anything you can throw at it, stand up, dust itself off and ask for more, reach for the Player Telecaster.

I spent 4 Hours in store trying different telecasters and kept coming back to this one. Neck feels great, pickups sound good and it stays in tune. I’ve played expensive to cheap tele’s in the past and this thing is awesome. Thank to Tony & Garrett from the store for helping me out thru the process.

I tried several guitar type and this shape is my favorite. I always found it ugly but sometimes the ugliest thing is the best. Way more comfortable than the les paul.

Not much more to say other than this is the classic work horse you expect from a Tele. I've had mine for 2 years. I liked the stock pickups, but have since upgraded to the Custom Shop Texas Special with a 4-way switch. If you want to unleash the beast inside, I highly recommend this mod.
I love the neck profile. A bit thinner for a more modern feel, which allows me to cover everything from traditional creamy blues, to punk and 80s/90s.
Pots are smooth and responsive with good range, very adjustable individual saddles, stays in tune even after some good bends, and good sustain.
Just get it. There's no decision here. By far the best value for a non-American guitar, and an essential single-coil that has immense versatility.

I own several guitars in many brands and price ranges. I have to admit that this is one of my favourites. I just keep going back to it. Comfortable to play, great sound, perfect pitch, sounds great through any brand or type of amp, quality build. Fender did good on this model. I think it's the best value for dollar guitar I own. Don't mistake it for a $5000 guitar; but don't dismiss it because it's cheaper or MIM.

I bought this guitar in 2018?? It has been my main guitar now for the last 4 years. This thing is an absolute workhorse. That great fender telecaster sound, great cleans and can drive it pretty hard. The band I am in travels alot and this thing just never lets me down. Tried LP's, jazzmasters, strats and I always find myself just coming back to this guitar.

Impressive as a guitar. Lots of twang, the pick-ups are very bright though but the tone knob works well and has a nice gradation. The sound is really surprising, modern and vintage at the same time. On the distortion wow it hard. The neck pickup is smooth and packs a lot of punch. The neck is very nice and easy to play. I really like the satin varnish. The cons now. Some buzz here and there but the guitar is out of the box I'll give it a chance but....
it's a TV it comes with. On the headstock the tree that holds the E and B strings hangs a little. Small room to change. For my part I filed lightly and put graphite (hb pencil lead) in the silet and under the tree. The rope slides better and does not catch. The keys are correct and after playing the guitar for a long time remains in tune. Very nice fender upgrade. Guitar very different from the old mim. We have the impression of having a little more quality in our hands.
The guitar is very very close to the made in usa.

This is a fantastic Tele I bought mine less than a year ago and have played the heck out of it other than just a fret edge polish it needed nothing it plays great and does the job. The higher end Telecasters I tried or looked at did not have the feel and quality this one does. I had it custom wired for i prefer the tone etc arranged differently Sounds so good with my Black star tube 100 amp. The twang will blow your mind! Stays in tune no matter how hard I hit or bend the strings!

I really liked my Squire Telecaster but wanted to upgrade to a Fender Telecaster. The Player Tele in black on black is a beautiful guitar. It feels about two pounds lighter than the Squire, and the satin finished neck is smoother to play than the varnished neck on the Squire. Most importantly, the sound is so much crisper and cleaner with the Alnico 5 pickups. My favourite L&M store in North Bay Ontario gave me a decent trade-in for the Squire and arranged a quick and painless curbside pickup. Big shout-out and thank you to Kris, for setting up the guitar nicely before I picked it up. It plays great, sounds awesome, and looks really nice with the black body/pickguard and maple neck. Thanks Kris and L&M!

First off, I love the black on black. The Telecaster is a basic guitar and a workhorse, guess that’s why they have been around so long. I love the tone from this guitar. Compaired it with my buddies Made in the USA tele, through my rig and I gotta say, sound wise, my MiM tele sounds just as good as his USA tele. I think the major difference in the 2 teles is the fit and finish. I’m playing the guitar right out of the box, but the great employees at Long & McQuade in St. John’s are going to do a free setup for me so that should remedy any fit and finish problems. Great service at Long & McQuade St. John’s and you will be seeing more of me in the near future.

Forget any pre- conceived notions you may have about the MIM logo. It’s 2021 and the world has changed.IMHO Fender of Mexico is building guitars of American Standard quality from just a few years ago. I own both a recent MIM Baja Telecaster and a 12 yr old . Strat. The Tele is every bit as well made! Remember, CNC machines can quickly (read ,,economically ) turn out perfect bodies and necks at the touch of a switch. I believe it would be foolish not to try a current MIM Telecaster for a real pleasant surprise. After that just practice playing till you sound like Roy Buchanan and you’ll never have to buy one again...Viva Mexico and Fender for putting unbeatable

I've had a black one for 6 years. It does everything a tele should do, and sounds exactly how you think it will. Straight up - a simple, excellent sounding guitar. Twangy in the bridge, and creamy in the neck. Mine gets used every week on stage and in rehearsal, rarely slips tuning - and i don't think I've even needed to set it up since i bought it. I put a matching black pickguard on mine though, cuz the white one was uuuuuugly...

I have played mostly classic rock over the last 35 years and wasn't sure if a Telecaster would be a good choice, I was wrong this guitar will rock out just as good as any Strat or LP that I have ever played. Stays in tune, sounds great and plays great. Highly recommend!

The best electric guitar I have ever played. I visited my local L&M looking to rent a hydro box to go with the champion 20 amp my wife bought for my birthday. I was looking at Epiphones and Gibsons, and the salesman asked me what music I would be playing. I replied old country, rock, 50's and 60's, and generally exploring. He brought out the Player Telecaster and the enjoyment hasn't stopped. It does all that I ask it to and then some. Feel and sounds better each time. Great experience with both L&M and Fender. I know I'll end up buying one!

I walked into LAM in Hamilton this after noon, looking to buy an electric jazz box. While i was shopping, the salesman came buy and told me about this new line of fender mim guitars. Now I've been playing for over 35 years. This guitar impressed me as soon as i picked it up, the neck is really comfortable. fit and finish is excellent, and then i plugged it in... all i can say is you won't be disappointed. From country quack to bright jazz to dirty blues to overdriven rock... it does it all very well.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
