One of the most prolific and important composers of Peru, Abril Tirado and his minuets were certainly known to both Segovia and Sor, and Verdi may even have used some of his material in La Traviata. Hailed as "the Rossini of the Americas," Abril Tirado's output would include 40 symphonies, 48 masses, 226 songs, 50 waltzes for piano, and much more.
Chanterelle presents the first modern publication of the 100 Minuets for guitar by the Peruvian master, edited by Peruvian-born performer and recording artist Alexander-Sergei Ramirez.
