The Powercab 112 and Powercab 112 Plus are 1x12 active speaker systems that deliver an authentic amp-in-the-room playing experience when paired with any modeler, profiler, or even an amp-simulation pedal. Select one of six classic Speaker Models as alternatives to your current cab models, or simply plug in your modeler and play using Flat Modethe choice is yours. Powercabs are also loud enough to fill any small club or medium-sized venue, and performing guitarists will also appreciate their lightweight yet roadworthy construction, compact size, flip-out kickstands, and XLR direct outputs.

The Powercab 112 Plus also includes powerful advanced features such as a 2-inch LCD, 128 user preset locations, MIDI In/Out, AES/EBU and L6 LINK digital I/O, a multipurpose second input, and a USB audio interface.

About Speaker Modelling

The sound of great amplifiers is due to the speaker as much as from the other components, yet until now no one has modeled an actual speaker driver alone, independently from the cabinet it is loaded into. Imagine having an empty 1x12 speaker cabinet that you can instantly load with any one of six classic speaker types (Vintage 30, Green Back, Creme Back, P12Q, Swamp Thang, and Blue Bell) just by pressing a button. Speaker Modeling mode enables you to do just that - virtually - using a new technology developed by Line 6.

Paired with my Helix this brings it to another level. Watch many videos on how to make the Helix sound better on it’s own and loved the results. But with the PC+ the way it moves air you get the amp in a room feel for sure and it gives punch to my patches. I also like the fact that I will be able to tweak my patches, hear them through the cab and this will be the sound sent to FOH from the PC+. Coming straight out of the Helix you are always dépendant on the monitoring system you are using (headphones, Studio monitors, etc) I think everything will sound more stable! Great piece of gear!

If your not afraid of the learning curve and use it with modelers and really want to expand your tone ...then this is the rig for you. Having used solid state to the ever changing tube tone , I was constantly trying to find something that would give a constant sound that could easily be controlled to my ever changing surroundings. This unit has done just that. I love the technology and have the time to edit and absolutely hate equipment that only works if you don't move it. Paired with the helix , gone are the time consuming tonality journeys that go with tubed or solid state amps. I used to be that guy that played one amp ....old school as they say ...but finally took the plunge and I will never look back. This unit is not for those who don't have the time to educate themselves. If your not afraid of going down the music rabbit hole , then grab these before the price goes up. The helix has just done that . 2016 prices have gone up because it works . Supply and demand.

When I bought the helix I wasn’t that impressed but after I tried it with the power cab 112 plus it was waaaay better. However my biggest breakthrough was when I bought the second powercab 112 plus and set up a stereo rig with the helix where the two cabs are separated and wow it sounds so 3D as if you’re inside the music. With just one of them it’s like listening to music with only one earphone on. With two, it’s the real deal.

I already owned an HX Stomp, and because I was so impressed with it, I decided to take the full plunge and go headlong into a strictly digital setup. I bought a Helix Floor and a 112 Powercab plus. This was one of the best things I could have done. The Powercab Plus, with it's Line 6 Link and line out have simplified my setup to the point where I only have to run two cables. One from the Helix L6 Link to the Powercab Plus and one from the line out on the PC+ to my mixer. No more micing a cab which means no more carrying around an extra mic stand and an extra SM57. I mostly use Frfr mode, but I have written some other patches where I use the modeled speakers. Both sound great it's just better for me to use my patches written for frfr live at the moment. Lastly the integration with the new Helix 2.8 firmware is basically seamless, and makes writing patches so easy. My only complaint is that the tolex could have been a little more robust. Mine already has some (minor) scars from less than six months of gigging it.

Purchased this to change things up a little and to lighten my load. Been a tube amp guy forever so was a little sceptical at first spending another grand on more equipment. I took the plunge since I already have a POD HD500 and a James Tyler Variax JTV59. By the way, that guitar has become my main go to guitar. Anyway, if you're on the fence about buying one, I strongly recommend it. Loud enough for regular sized clubs and for sure practice sessions. What I love though is the speaker models in this thing - sound awesome and punchy. Oh, did I mention my load is much lighter and with only two cables! I now use LINK to plug everything in with just two cables. Welcome to the future boys and girls.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
