The Yamaha P-125 is a compact digital piano featuring 88-keys with graded hammer action (GHS) and Yamaha's industry leading Pure CF sound engine. With 50 preset piano songs, metronome, recording function and connectivity for headphones, USB out and more, this piano will have strong appeal for both beginners and experienced pianists.

The P-125 combines incredible piano performance with a user friendly minimalistic design. Building on the great success of its predecessor, the P-125 comes with even more features to help you grow with your music. It produces the dynamic, high-quality sound and natural piano touch response expected from Yamaha pianos while maintaining a sleek and slim footprint.

Piano quality only possible from Yamaha
Yamaha is the industry leader in digital piano technology, and you can hear this in the sound of digital pianos that utilise the Pure CF engine. P-125 includes the sound of the renowned Yamaha CFIIIS 9' concert grand piano and is faithfully reproduced, allowing for incredible dynamics and expressiveness making Pure CF equipped digital pianos worthy of the Yamaha name. A Graded Hammer Standard (GHS) 88-key piano keyboard provides a heavier touch in the low end and lighter touch in the high end, and is similar to the acoustic piano.

Authentic Piano performance space
The newly improved 2-way speaker system produces an expansive piano sound in both upward and downward directions. This enables the player to enjoy a rich sound field as though you were sitting in front of an acoustic piano.

Bass and Drum beats are right on time
P-125 has on-board Bass and Drum tracks that keep your playing in time. There's a variety of rhythm patterns to choose from depending on the vibe you're going for. From rock to ballads, use these rhythms to add an element of fun to your practicing, or simply use them as a virtual drummer for your performances.

Simple operation using the Smart Pianist app!
Yamaha's "Smart Pianist" app allows you to control the many functions included in Yamaha digital pianos with your smart device. Voices, rhythms and other settings can be selected while looking at the screen, making it easy to enjoy new functions with ease.

You can also save your favourite settings for quick recall at any time. You can discover the chords in audio tracks in your iPhone or iPad instantly. Find new ways to enjoy your P-125, using smart functions that only a modern digital instrument can provide.

Did a ton of research before settling on the Yamaha P125. This checked all my boxes - quality build, weighted keys with nice action, very user friendly, has a good range of features including ability to layer and split the keyboard, terrific sound, and for me - can plug into a powered mixer for gigging or jamming sessions with quarter inch jack. All this at a great price point. At this price, no other keyboard matches the P125 in my opinion.

Picked this up as a portable keyboard to jam with friends and the occasional small room gig where the on-board speakers are sufficient enough to not need additional amp. Nice acoustic piano and Rhodes and Whirly electric piano voices, but I’m baffled as to why a CP voice- Yamaha’s signature electric piano- is not there. Organ “B3” voices a bit cheesy. Decent Clav strings and the bass accompaniment works well. The drum accompaniment is quite useful for practicing. Touted as a portable keyboard, but there should be a portable version of the pedal design that can use the DIN pedal input when using a quick lock or x brace portable stand stand instead of the L125, to avail of all the pedal features (E.g. Rotary Organ effect). This day and age should Have Bluetooth capability and a more substantial sequencer like several of its competitors. But overall despite a couple of disappointments, this is still a great keyboard and a good value at this price point.

I bought this keyboard as an accompaniment to my grand piano, to practice duets and for the transposition function. It does not disappoint! I’m having so much fun playing this keyboard just for itself alone. It will reinvigorate your playing experience!

I regularly play guitar and bass guitar. I mean I took piano lessons as a kid but that is all but left my knowledge now. I want to get back to playing piano again. We even have a regular upright piano in the house. We got it used for basically free as it was retired from a piano teacher, so the feeling of those keys don't get any more "real" than that (all pounded in and worn out). My main challenge as a dad was I need something I can put headphones in and play, because the only time I get to practice is in the evenings after the kids are asleep. Or weekend during the day , but before the baby naps. So that caused me a lot of grief. Wanting to make time to practice but not being able to. I was looking for a good and inexpensive "a piano" to have and use, so I found this. But then I discovered from playing it, it has a lot of the other voices, like harpsichord, strings, and electric piano, and bass. It is a takes me back to those casio toy pianos we had as kids with the built in demo. only this one feels real and nice to play on. And the sounds are much better. I also like the idea of the split in half teaching mode feature, so when my kids are older and into learning how to play I can teach them. I got the L-125 stand as I plan to leave it in my room. But It is super convenient and portable to move around if i needed to. The built in speakers give it a good sound, but I appreciate the line output, so when I do get around to playing live with it, i can just plug it into an amp and use it. I am super excited to play with the built in drum synth too, since drums is the only thing I am missing, and I find it pretty dreadful to try to program software drum machines on my computer. Having the regular keys interface is brilliant. I have yet to discover midi and how to use it, but this is ready for me when i get there too. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a piano, even if the reason is not revenge like mine was :)

Caveat: I'm not a piano player. I bought it for my Son. But I have a problem where I exhaustively research the best and the worst of whatever I'm buying. I talked to my Son's piano teacher (she has a p115). Spent lot's of time online reading and watching reviews and comparisons. And finally went to just about every store that sells keyboards in the Vancouver area and talked to the professionals and people that sell pianos. First off, Yamaha has a solid reputation. The p125 (and its predecessors) are highly rated. If you compare the sound quality, the looks, the build quality, the feel, the features, some high tech gadgetry - it's unbeatable. We don't have the space for a accoustic piano, but this sounds pretty darn close if you ask me. Close enough until he becomes a performing piano player. Long McQuade is always professional, not pushy and 100% Canadian. If this is your price range, the Yamaha p125 should be on your research list. I would definately recommend it. And when you do decide, you won't find a better store than Long McQuade. I also explored the best stand for it. We wanted a folding stand. One that is sturdy, well built and highly adjustable. The Hercules EZ-LOK double X, ks120 is bullet proof and fits the p125 perfectly.

I highly recommend this keyboard taking into consideration cost (under $800) , sound which is awesome from the built the built in speakers and keyboard action. The key action is so like a quality grand piano that I am still in awe after weeks of playing. In demo mode you can relax and have the keyboard fill your ambiance with classical favorites. I purchased a folding heavy duty X- style tube stand and it is a bit bouncy keeping mind there are 88 keys.. a full size keyboard. There is an optional more solid floor stand which I would suggest if the keyboard is to be stationary. I'm giving the Yamaha P-125 5 stars and thanks to the folks at Long & Mcquade for your helpful and friendly assistance.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
