Yamaha Heavy Weight Double Braced Snare Stand
SS 950
The SS-950 has a new centered ball and socket tilter that allows almost limitless angle adjustment. The location of the tilter also allows the full power of each stroke since the force is driven straight into the vertical tube. The basket can be quickly detached from the vertical tube by loosening a single wing nut, allowing for compact storage or quick snare drum changes at a gig. The new three-arm basket design allows the SS-950 to sit almost 2" lower than the previous model.

I already had a Pearl S930D to accommodate my Vinnie Paul and double kicks. But I saw this and snapped it up. Great features and adjustability. Very stable. retractable spikes. IN all aspects as good as the S930D (doesn't have the offset holder, but doesn't need it either). Sits very low and very sturdy. Minimal footprint so it can accommodate swivel base HH stand and permit the double kick bar to pass without scraping the bar.

Excellent snare stand, very boss indeed. The ball-n-socket feature allows me to position the snare drum any where I want. I was a little concerned about the height limitations as it appeared to be a shorter stand, however, I was able to comfortable mount my 7" deep snares as well as my piccolo snare drums. Very solid and sturdy as well. Well worth the money.
Great service at the Winnipeg store!
